I was reading another article and came across something I had almost forgotten. The loss of Joe Philbin was more than just replacing him, it also involved a lot of moving pieces.
The loss of Joe Philbin, who left to become head coach of the Miami Dolphins, was genuinely felt. Clements’ promotion led to Ben McAdoo shifting from tight ends to quarterbacks, Jerry Fontenot moving from running backs to tight ends and Alex Van Pelt, a quarterbacks coach by trade, being brought in as running backs coach. It will be interesting to see whether those roles remain the same in 2013.
How much do you guys think that affected our offense this season? It was obviously a tough year offensively (though I suppose by the numbers we were still probably pretty good), did the coaching shift contribute to this? As Jason Wilde asks, should we see some changes in the coaching positions this offseason?

I don't really think it has much to do with anything. I credit the tough offensive season, to McCarthy having more faith in his offense than he should and not making the needed adjustments. He should have been able to figure a way to attack the cover 2.

speaking of offensive coach shifting, when are these writers going to leach our "fire james campen" topic and write an article about that?
