You see, Childress has staked his job on a guy with measurables off the charts but he can't develop him, and Mike McCarthy comes waltzing up north and every quarterback he works with is successful. Childress, being a rational man, believes there's only one explanation for his own failure and MM's easy success: magic. And as a rational man, he'll be damned if he's gonna end up as a solid gold statue on the 50 yard line of Lambeau Field.
Childress also still believes in the tooth fairy.
Somebody please tell him. If Mike McCarthy would have shook his hand, Childress would have turned into a pile of steaming dog poop..........oh wait...........he must have shook MM's hand already!!! :physassult: :thumbleft: So who would win in a fight between Mike McCarthy and Chuck Norris? ;) And remember. Chuck Norris doesn't go on the internet, he has every internet site stored in his memory. He refreshes webpages by blinking. Is it a mini MM? |

Honestly, if he was talking and coaching his QB, I have no problem with not making it out to shake hands. That is what his first priority should be.
MM and Chilly talked on Tuesday, just another twist from the media that they can dig up in November for a faux storyline. |

Here's Brad Childress's explanation of the non-handshake, which is believable. This is from the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Oh well, it was a fun "issue" while it lasted:
Vikings coach Brad Childress admitted he never took part in the customary postgame handshake with McCarthy, but he said it wasnt meant as a snub.
Childress said he tried to reach McCarthy by phone on Tuesday to explain he was trying to console quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, who was upset about his late-game interception.
We left messages for each other, Childress said, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. It was more driven by the fact that I was trying to get with Tarvaris as he got off the field, and I entered the tunnel with him and had something that we wanted to discuss. I wanted to see where his frame of mind was. It wasnt an orchestrated deal or anything of that matter. |

That sounds alot better then the thought slight. Can't blame Chilly for that at all.
Here's part of the convo between Chilly & T-Jack. Chilly: "You suck, you know that? What are you trying to do? Get me fired???" T-Jack:"Thats what you get for trying to put the game's outcome in my hands. Geez.........don't you KNOW better by now???" Chilly: "My bad.......your right.......maybe i should have had you hand the ball off to Peterson more." T-Jack: "Ya THINK!?!?" Chilly: "Nah......nevermind......if i do that, i'll ruin my reputation!" T-Jack: "WHAT reputation???" Chilly: "You know.....that i'm a brain dead idiot! I mean....think about it.......if we start winning games, the fans will EXPECT us to win, which will put WAY too much pressure on me. Now as it stands, if i throw them a bone every once in awhile, it's like Christmas for them!" T-Jack: "Uh.......Mr. Burns......I mean "Coach"........you missed the after game handshake with Mike McCarthy." Chilly: "SHHHH! I KNOW! I didn't know what to say to him.......I'm running out of "Congratulations" speeches!" |

I thought he was seeing a female. The term man's man is misleading. The definition is actually closer to Alpha Male than what you thought it was. That was my feeble attempt at humor. Thud.
