He's a really good pass rush specialist with someone on the other side. Part time player. Not worth $4 million per year in my eyes. He's good, but not that good. |

One thing that worries me about that contract is if the Colts are willing to pay that for Walden, what could teams possibly be willing to pay for Brad Jones? |

We needed to add more speed to this position. Glad we didn't keep him. But I'll also say he was a great asset to us for filling in the last 3 seasons especially in 2010 when we won it all. Hope you do great in Indy Waldy!

Walden seemed to get more of his sacks against guys that shouldn't be starting OT in the NFL.

He's really not, though. And he can't play the run. And he can't cover anyone. And he gets moved easily. He was one of the biggest reasons for our 2011 season pass rushing debacle. Every single team was scheming around Matthews, giving him at least double coverage... And with Walden on the other side, they could've put three on him and just let a TE or HB stop Walden. If he made up for that by playing the run, there's at least one plus to him, but he's always out of position. Like Dakota said, put the tape on from that 49ers game. Walden is never in position that entire game. I'm not quite sure while he's getting such a ridiculous amount of money. In fact, this is from Walterfootball.comQuote:This was the worst signing of the first day of free agency, which is saying a lot because a number of dumb moves were made.
What the hell are the Colts thinking? Erik Walden is borderline rosterable. He was so bad in Green Bay that I had numerous Packer fans e-mail me about how thrilled they were to finally be getting rid of him. Walden does absolutely nothing positive on the football field. He shouldn't have been signed for $1.75 million, let alone $17.5 million... |
