@AdamSchefter: Bears announced they were unable to sign LB Brian Urlacher and are moving in another direction.

Sounds like they weren't too keen on keeping him...

PFT thinks the offer was "insulting".

Can't sum it up much better than this guy.

These athletes never cease to amaze me. You make 50 to 100 million dollars from the team, plus more from endorsements over your career, and then you leave for 1-2 mil more from another team for the last year or two of your career…and then they talk about how friggin much they wanted to stay.

Well, no, they dont want to stay, theyre still chasing money. Just say it.

Too bad GB reneg Hawk already. It would have been great to have a broken down Urlacher for that money. If for no other reason than to p!ss of Bare fans. Even if he only played those 2 games it would have been worth it.

The icing on top would have been seeing U get a ring with GB when he couldn't get one in Chi town.

Screw that, it was bad enough we piggybacked Jim McMahon for a ring.

($2 million) is a lot of money, don’t get me wrong, but for me to go through a season, put my body through what it goes through during a season at my age, I’m not going to play for that, you know, not for the Bears at least.

Sounds to me like he'd play for someone else for $2 million, just not the Bears.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Packers uniform. The guy can play. Pissing off the Bears would be a bonus. Give him a two year deal, and he improves this defense. He'll, I'd love to see him get 2 Super Bowl rings with the Packers. To me, he was never "hated" in the rivalry, just damn good. I would think he still is...

I said he was done last year and people didn't believe me. The Packers fans who think he's still stellar are blinded by the seemingly fact that Urlacher plays lights out against the Packers, but disappears the other 14 games of the year. I even had a couple Bears fans who watch every game agree to that. I told them I'd be cool if that 14/2 were to flip lol

nerdmann is probably confused, thinking I'm stat whoring. What I'm saying is I'd rather Urlacher have played lights out the other 14 games of the year than the two divisional games against the Packers. You're welcome nerdmann. :) or is it one 'n'???

Lost in the equation is 24 PD over the last 3 seasons, 7 last season in only 12 games. 5 INTs, 4 FFs, 4 sacks, 5 FRs over those 3 seasons. His coverage ability is still quite good, over the middle, where we need that help. Is he what he used to be? No. But, he's still a good player in the middle.

To be fair, Hawk had a pretty decent 2010, with 10 PD, 3 INTs, 1 FR and 0.5 sacks. He just hasn't had much since in those areas. 0 PDs last year, 0 FFs, 0 INTs, 0 FR... But, he did have 3 sacks, his highest total in years.

I'm just thinking a guy like Urlacher might really, really like to have a chance to play with GB and a more real shot at a SB. A highly motivated Urlacher may not be a bad addition.

Don't the Packers do that enough on the scoreboard. What has Cutler won, just one game against us? The Packers own their ass.

I'd like him - If only to piss off a Bears fan I know who wears his Urlacher white away shirt to work on Dress Down Days.

He would be bombarded with e-mails and PMs to ask if he wants to sell it!!!
