In 2012, 29 players missed at least one game due to injury and two years before that, 31 missed at least game.

The 2010 team overcame them because few were to critical players, but last year starters missed a whopping 93 games.

That number still blows my mind.

This should ease people's concerns at least a little. I see a lot of posts about how worried people are about the 49ers and Seahawks passing the Packers on the totem pole. IMO, those two teams were some of the luckiest teams in terms of staying healthy.

To put it in a little perspective, imagine the 49ers were without:

MLB Patrick Willis (and his replacement) for the entire season
OLB Ahmad Brooks for the majority of the season
SS Donte Witner for 6-8 weeks
WR Michael Crabtree for pretty much the whole season
RB Frank Gore in and out of the line up all year
RT Anthony Davis for the season

I doubt they would have been playing in the Super Bowl this year.

Not making excuses for the Packers, but it would be hard for any team in the league to deal with the injuries the Packers endured. If anything, I'm impressed with how well they performed relying on young and unproven players. This bodes well for the Packers' future as these young guys mature, the Packers will be better because of it.

Yeah, that really puts it all in perspective.

We've been pretty snake bit with injuries, it still amazes me we won the SB a couple of years ago. Hopefully we can find some answers to better keeping our players healthy.

It really is remarkable that we were able to compete. My hat is off to Ted Thompson for filling the bottom of our roster out with the best quality he could draft. Got to hand it to him there. We've gone 3 seasons now with players stepping into critical starting roles due to injury, and performing pretty well, all things considered.

The rash of injuries we suffered at RB last year was unbelievable. Same with our OL and DL.

Hopefully those tables turn for us and we are able to have a relatively healthy season.

wpr (6h) : I liked the Sat Sun version.
beast (12h) : HELL YEAH! ... the draft was SOOOO MUCH BETTER in the ol Saturday/Sunday format... only people that I've heard disagree are those that don't really follow the draft and just random get updates on thei
beast (12h) : Key word there is "proven"... not if they're true, but if you can prove it. Jerry Jones said the same thing for Greg Hardy, it wasn't "proven".
Zero2Cool (13h) : Flat out honesty from 49ers GM
Zero2Cool (13h) : John Lynch: “if these charges are proven true, if Reuben did hit this young lady, he won’t be part of our organization moving forward.”
Smokey (13h) : 49ers / Bye Week / Rams
Zero2Cool (15h) : Brian Gutekunst: “Draft was way better when it was Saturday and Sunday.”
Zero2Cool (23-Apr) : With pick #14, @CFD22 has the @Packers selecting UTSA DE Marcus Davenport.

Zero2Cool (17-Apr) : Jimmy Graham on choosing Packers -- Why Green Bay instead of New Orleans? "#12 is hungry
DarkaneRules (17-Apr) : When he talked about missing guys he didn't mentioned Greg Jennings :)
Zero2Cool (17-Apr) : it won't though. thus, off-season = hate season
gbguy20 (17-Apr) : these quotes from arod should shut people up
Zero2Cool (17-Apr) : Jimmy Graham on whether he's still the same Jimmy Graham: "I'm still 6-foot-7 and still run a 4.55 (40)."
Zero2Cool (17-Apr) : TE Jimmy Graham said he turned down a lot of money to sign with a team he said he feels can win it all. “12 is hungry,” he said.
Zero2Cool (17-Apr) : Aaron Rodgers on potential extension with Packers: "There's interest on both sides in getting something done"
Zero2Cool (17-Apr) : "You have to trust the process. And the process works." Aaron Rodgers
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : I think Barkley would be crazy good with Aaron Rodgers.
porky88 (15-Apr) : If the Packers trade into the top 10, I think it's for Saquan Barkley.
buckeyepackfan (15-Apr) : Lololol
buckeyepackfan (15-Apr) : Need to use this statement "The Packers have wasted enough years of AR's career"
TheKanataThrilla (14-Apr) : New GM with a new qb. History repeats.
TheKanataThrilla (14-Apr) : I had that fuck that idea about Rodgers..turns out I was wrong.
gbguy20 (14-Apr) : fuck that idea.
TheKanataThrilla (14-Apr) : Rosen?
