I doubt this would ever work, but I was sitting here and my mind wondered. Thought I'd share my ADD benefits with ya.
Say the team that wins the Super Bowl is subject to losing any one player to the team with the worst record and in turn would get their overall #1 pick.
So, last year the Giants would have lost a player to the Dolphins. Probably Eli Manning and would have gotten the overall first pick in the draft from the Dolphins in return. The Dolphins would choose the player or elect not to choose a player an use the 1st overall draft pick.
I think that would level the playing field more. Not that its not really level already. But I thought it was interesting, and like I said, really unlikely to ever be considered. |

I guess I don't see the complete parity in that scheme.. yes it would allow the worst team to cherry pick a player off the champs.. but they are champs for a reason.
They probably draft pretty well.. so giving them a number one pick in the draft and the last pick of the 1st round will just let them constantly reload.
It would however allow the struggling team rights to probably a franchise QB and the revenue hike too boot... until their depleted offensive line got said QB killed.
But I like the outside the box thinking. |
