Hey GermanGilbert, I was thinking with a trade of our R1 from next year to jump into the 5-6 range. 4 is definitely doable with what we currently have and maybe a trade down from 26.

Trading away future picks is not really Ted Thompson style, but this guy surprises us every year ;) So we'll have to sit down and wait what's gonna happen. Everything can happen every year for sure.

He might trade Hawk or Finley, but he's not sacrificing a future draft pick. He's more likely to give up this year's for a better one next year.

Margus Hunt DE
Datone Jones DE
Jesse Williams NT
Jonathan Jenkins NT

Kyle Long OG
Jamie Collins OLB
Kwame Geathers NT
Montee Ball RB
Le'Veon Bell RB
Stephan Taylor RB

Cordarrelle Patterson WR

As it stands we can probably get 3 from this group, we should be able to anyway. With some shrewd trading, maybe Ted can add to that total. I'd be thrilled if he stuck to the lines, and maybe added one top skill player on O.

BTW, I miss the Saturday/Sunday draft. I think Ted does too. I recall him saying in an article how he was more of a morning person, and that this new format is not to his liking.

The only thing I like about the 3 day format is the first round moves faster. No half an hour wasted on a team trading at the last minute for a team to spend another 15 minutes with their pick.

If a team traded for another teams pick, they didn't get a new 15 minutes, they had to submit their pick within the remaining 15 minute time frame.

I don't like the three days. Saturday - Sunday would be best or even Round 1 Friday, then Saturday Sunday.

Ops! I guess I just assumed they got a fresh 15 since it always took forever to get through. Says something that they can now start it at 8 PM ET and be done around 12-12:30 am (not sure what time exactly, had to rush to work after the Packers pick) when before it would have gotten slightly past halfway.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do the rest of the way here. If they stay where they are, we will get some good players. I'm hoping they work a trade to add more of the top talent. I fully expect Ted will work it to maneuver himself to get who he wants. Something tells me he trades up tonight.

Agreed. I expected before the draft started for Ted Thompson to pick up an extra pick over the first 3 rounds and I still think he does.
