When you are a championship caliber team 6th and 7th round picks don't stick very often. They end up on the PS and then stolen by a weaker team later on. It is a waste.

And people were whining about us moving back instead of taking Lacie, then whining because we didn't take Lacie in the first, and then we still got him in the second. And then we pretend like first and second round players are guaranteed awesome players and 4th-7th rounders are practice squad fodder. This is why I don't get into the draft - you don't get any resolution until at LEAST a couple years down the line. Until then it's just mindless speculation.

In the first year or two I accepted it. He wanted to dump Sherman players and bring in as many of his own as he could get. With the cap crunch back then it was understandable. It is as if he says he will pay Aaron Rodgers and CM3 and stick a bunch of 7th round picks and street free agents out there with them in order to make it payoff.

We'll get some good players tomorrow. These guys won't be scrubs. It's a deep draft in these rounds, and some very good players have fallen.

Well, you have to admit, he has plenty of ammo to move up a couple of times to get who he wants.

Look at just the 4th round players left for us to pilfer...

That makes no sense. If you trade back and get an extra pick while not missing out on anyone and still get a player you like it's a waste? Sounds like a perfect situation to me. This championship caliber team has had plenty of UDFAs make the team the past couple years. It seems to me like getting the player you want while also getting more chances at other players is anything but "a waste"

yes there are. But in reality only 3-4 of them make the team. otherwise why not deal for 16 6th round picks and 16 7th round picks?

I guess it would have been better to just take Lacy instead of trading down and taking Lacy because you know that 6th rounder might not make the team...
