It damn well better NOT be Tramon Williams. Most of the other names in the article and previous posts with the possible exception of James Jones who isn't going anyplace until after next season, wouldn't be missed - by me anyway, but DON'T cut Tramon.

Starks has to be the most likely one to go in the short term.

Well that DEFINITELY will not be happening this year. He is the starter and Hayward is good and all but he is not ready for that role just yet nor is Mr. House. That is not the position to be cutting from the top of right now.

That position may belong to the defensive line if Raji doesn't stay consistent enough to warrant his new extended deal. If not then of course a younger player stepping up in the year ahead will determine if we can afford to let him go or if another player has to be cut to keep him.

Does Sherrod count?

I think Mike McCarthy put 3 guys in order of when they're getting healthy and Sherrod was last. (might not be remembering that right). Yes he was a 1st round pick, but he's got to stay healthy.

One injury that took him out two years. At the end of last season he lost all of his burst and didn't look good.

Green 16 games over two years... avg. of 8 games per year.

Starks 22 games over three years avg. of 7.3333 games per year. That's not a big difference.

Starks 19 games over the last two years... avg. of 9.5 games per year.

Then again Bishop and Starks had the trade rumors... and Bishop is gone. but Stark is already on the field. Another injury and he's gone.

But I say the the best person win... and who knows... Harris could be the one gone and the top other 4 stay. No way to call this one (yet)..... though I think Harris (if healthy) has a good shot at staying.

You can't count Greens injury twice.

You count him out last year and you count his games where he played hurt because we had no other RBs.

Flanigan lost 2 years to injury his rookie year and came back to be a keystone of the Packers line.

No matter how you spin it. Starks keeps getting injured. Green was injured once.

Green got injured. Then he got healthy. Then the same injury flared up took him out again.

That's twice. One injury, two seasons.

The fact is Starks and Green have both kept getting injured every NFL season they've been in, so far the Packers haven't been able to count on ether staying healthy.

I'm not faulting a guy who tried to come back too soon, because we didn't have enough depth at his position.

I guess you could say the same thing for James Starks. His injury just "flared" up again .... and again ... and again.

I thought they were different injuries and not flare ups but like I said they've both been injured every single season they've been in the NFL so far.

The same injury flaring up is the same injury.

Wow, does that even need to be said?

That is along the lines of don't use a hair dryer in the shower.

I suppose the real question about who the Packers will cut next is What do the Vikings still need?

Yes it's the same injury but you're using logic is over simplifying it by implying that means it's any better.

QB Brett Favre got lots of injuries but didn't miss a game.

DT Harrell got a couple injuries, mainly his back injury which kept flaring up year after year after year... but by your standards it's only one injury. So Favre got injured a lot more often.

That (while extreme) proves it's not by the number of injuries.

You did bring up a great way to look at it in games and years.

Starks has only played 22 games in 3 years.

And facts are career wise Green has averaged 8 games a season while Starks averages 7.333 which isn't a huge difference.

In the last two years Green has averaged 8 games a season while Starks averages 9.5 games a season.

It's about available and playing level... not number of injuries...and the fact is their available has been about the same (poor).

uffda udfa (21m) : This is the 6th straight game we've faced someone for the 2nd time. We learn.
uffda udfa (22m) : Aaron: I like our role. I like our chances. (said he relishes being an underdog)
uffda udfa (28m) : Aaron alludes to fake crowd noise at Georgia Dome for Sunday.
uffda udfa (1h) : So, to recap. Losing streak "just the way it is", winning streak "astronomical feat". #Balanced
uffda udfa (1h) : Ironically, he called the turn around "astronomical" not just the way it is in the NFL. #Don'tMissTheIrony
uffda udfa (1h) : Ted tells Demovsky the Packers weren't underachieving when 4-6. Just the way it is in the NFL????
Zero2Cool (5h) : Only time I recall getting annoyed is when they beat a single topic over and over and over.
Pack93z (5h) : Most yes... Heller seems to get it more so... diversity in his coverage... but seemingly can highlight the pressing issues properly.
Zero2Cool (5h) : I'm kind of in the boat that they all are babblying boonies.
Pack93z (5h) : God bless it... Bill Michaels can be a stubborn SOB at times... love his Packers coverage, still think he is a buffoon at times.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Jordy Nelson Named PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Zero2Cool (7h) : Carter is predicitng the end is in ATL for Packers.
Porforis (7h) : Or I could just completely miss the part where that was Cris Carter.
Porforis (7h) : Careful there. Don't you want to predict a Packers loss just in case?
Zero2Cool (8h) : @criscarter80 :Every fairy tale comes to an end, and this is where the magic carpet ride stops in the ATL.
Zero2Cool (8h) : McCarthy: "JC Tretter actually had surgery Tuesday. He won't be available this week"
Zero2Cool (9h) : Crosby is fine now. Full Participant in practice Thursday
Porforis (9h) : What I'm more worried about at this point is WR injuries and Crosby being sick. Who'd be the backup if Crosby can't go?
Zero2Cool (9h) : We do have hope. Our secondary has improved. Also, he had to throw 80% to get 1 point up. That won't happen again.
Zero2Cool (10h) : I like to tease sometimes.
uffda udfa (10h) : Only 80%? :). We lost by one given that stat? Wish we had hope of tightening up.
uffda udfa (10h) : Z, u should tell everyone who Quintorris is. Quintorris Lopez Jones, better known as Julio.
Zero2Cool (10h) : Matt Ryan completed 80% of his passes against Packers in October.
uffda udfa (10h) : McGinn goes full on attack mode dismissing the notion of "Packers people". Harsh.
uffda udfa (10h) : McGinn says John Dorsey likely to be next Packers GM.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Boom! Davante Adams says last year's ankle injury "more difficult to deal with'
uffda udfa (16h) : Packers brass potentially leaving? Not worthy of discussing. Pressure Cooker? Never enough talk about them.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Put Quintorris in a pressure cooker.
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Back to football: Julio says he's going to play Sunday. Did NOT say he wouldn't be limited in the game.
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Anyone ever used their dishwasher to make their Thanksgiving turkey?
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Favorite Ronnie Milsap song? Smokey Mountain Rain or Any Day Now?
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Favorite GM candidate... Wolf or Gutekunst?
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : I'd rather sit them than play them too compromised.
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Yeah, Z. More pressure cooker talk and smoked turkeys.
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : If this were a regular-season game, Nelson, Adams and Allison probably would not play, MM says.
