Someone can check the math on the topic title. But I believe it's true, or close to it and with that said, this quote rings a cord ...

Will Allen said:
The first thing Ryan Clark and Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor and those guys said to me when I walked into the defensive back room, was if you don’t stick your face in the thing, you can’t be on this defense. If you aren’t ready to hit — we don’t care about interceptions — if you aren’t ready to hit, we don’t need you.

That's the mentality of a physical and tough defense. The Packers? Let's pick it off!!

BOTH ought to be possible, but if a choice is necessary, I will take getting turnovers any day. I just hope that this year's "commitment" to toughness doesn't rock the boat on what got us those INTs. It shouldn't, because our DBs are good and getting better.

We've got the most cumulative INTs over the last 3 seasons with 73! New England (68) and Chicago (65) are next over that same span.

We were ranked #8 last year with 18, and #1 in 2011 with 31, #2 in 2010 with 24.

CHI led the league last season with 24.

BAL leads post season cumulative INT total over that 3 year span with 14. GB #2 with 11. We had 8 of those in the 2010 post season. Remarkable.

In other words, the previous season's excellence is hanging over into the present.

Well, I think with a serious pass rush, which I believe we will have, our numbers could rival those of 2010, which were phenomenal. That would be good to see. We've got some real ball hawks back there.

I think we are all judging our defense on the debacle in San Francisco, which was an anomaly of a game played by a short handed defense. I expect a much improved defense fielded in 2013.

Our numbers in 2012 could have been better as well if the INTs weren't called TDs.

That one fucking horrendous call affected our record and playoff possibilities. That still pisses me off beyond belief mein freund!

A healthy Perry, an improved Neal and Dantone Jones will hopefully transform a weakness, pass rush, into a strength. Then the rest should fall into place...hopefully.
