Aaron Rodgers knows better ... By now the majority of football fans everywhere have heard of a recent picture “tweeted” by the 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick wearing a Miami Dolphins hat. While this makes for rather awkward news, it does create an interesting thought matrix as to whether or not other quarterbacks around the league [...]

My reaction, who give a rats behind what hat a player wears.

I thought these guys had contractual obligations to wear certain hats, etc. as it relates to the NFL. I'm surprise Kaepernick was even allowed to wear anything but a 49ers hat.

As long as it is Nike, they can wear whatever.

As a Packers fan, I'd feel a bit slighted if Aaron Rodgers were wearing a Dolphins hat, but I'd get over it pretty quick. It's just a hat.

I guess it would depend where and why he was wearing it. Especially if it is the off season and its not a team function no biggie to me.

I wouldn't care what cap he wears as long as he doesn't wear it sideways or backwards.

I have almost 50 different hats from various clients in my office. I sometimes pop one on when I take a walk and such during the day. I'm not necessarily wearing the hat to represent anything, I just need it to protect my face from the blazing southern California sun. I suppose some put a lot more meaning into the hats they wear, though.

Let's say we get eliminated from the playoffs. Yeah, I know. Hard to imagine our team shitting itself in the division round, right?

Now let's say Miami is playing Seattle in the Superbowl or something like that. I can't stand Seattle after that Fail Mary situation, just the way they conducted themselves with regard to that "win."

If I see Arodge sporting a Miami cap, supporting Philbin, I have no problem with that.

Maybe the dude likes the Dolphins logo... Its just a hat. If Rodgers wore a Vikings hat it would bother me very very slightly. Want to talk about getting pissed off? ....How about Favre in a Vikings uniform, PLAYING for them. Thats a problem. Wearing another teams hat for the hell of it is not.

Whatever dude. Its like Ford firing a guy and then getting pissed because he goes to work for GM a couple of years later.

Every interview with Rodgers back in the day was all about how much he loved the 49ers and wanted to play for them. I gave up being sensitive about stuff like this a long time ago. Why do people care about this stuff?

Obviously, wearing a division rivals apparel is MUCH different than wearing another teams hat that's in a completely difference conference. It's not like he was caught wearing a Seahawks hat or anything.

I don't think 49ers fans were upset that he was wearing a Dolphins hat ... nearly as much as HOW he responded to those who did gripe about it.

Not really. More like a dude from middle management telling the CEO how to run the company. Then when he doesn't get his way, starts bucking the system, going against his bosses' directives, jerking the company around, trying to divide the rank and file to form a mutiny.

Then when he gets shitcanned, pisses his pants to the media and starts sending proprietary industrial secrets to the competition.

All the while being blackmailed to tank his job performance, because of the way he conducts himself in his personal life.

Something more like that.

Actually it is more like a head designer tries to quit Ford to go to GM but can't because of a 5 year no compete clause, colludes with GM, fake retires then fakes a comeback and tries to force ford to drop the non compete clause in his contract.

When they don't, he goes to International Harvester, but gives plans to all Fords new cars to GM and Chrysler.

Then he fake retires to get out of the non compete clause again to go to GM.

Then says they both "made mistakes"

I knew someone would bring this up. First of all, as far as I know you can't retire (real or fake) to get out of a non compete clause. 5 years is 5 years. Second since when are there no compete clauses in NFL contracts? Once a player is no longer under contract with one team he is free to go where he wants except in the case of a trade obviously. For the record car designers leave companies and go to work for the competition all the time. Noted car designer Carroll Shelby went from Ford to Chrysler and then back to Ford. Sometimes there are non compete clauses sometimes not

I didn't bring up the Ford/GM analogy. You have to give me some latitude because it was inadequate to illustrate what really happened.

Favre was under contract with the Packers until 2011 and couldn't play for any other team without the Packers permission.

Close enough.

For the record, it isn't about the cars.

buckeyepackfan (5h) : Smokey you can't lose something you never had.
buckeyepackfan (5h) : Packers receive 4 comp picks for 2018. 4th, 2-5ths, 6th
Smokey (11h) : Peters to the Rams
Smokey (11h) : and another player is lost to another team. Deja Vu again !
Nonstopdrivel (22-Feb) : should have done*
Zero2Cool (21-Feb) : Hi 😊😉
TheKanataThrilla (21-Feb) : I guess I should have did a refresh when I walked away from the computer.
TheKanataThrilla (21-Feb) : Peters is 25 with one year left on his contract at just over $3M
Zero2Cool (21-Feb) : Mel Kiper sticks with Marcus Davenport to GB in 2nd mock
Zero2Cool (21-Feb) : As for Marcus Peters, how old is he an what's his contract years left?
Zero2Cool (21-Feb) : Packers got tired of Sitton's antics.
Zero2Cool (21-Feb) : Sitton was released not because of play or salary, but personality. He will not be re-signed.
TheKanataThrilla (21-Feb) : If we are planning on possibly cutting Cobb I can see the 2nd round pick. A second round pick for Peters is a pretty good deal.
Smokey (21-Feb) : I'd offer Cobb + a 3rd round pick + a 6th round pick in 2019 for the CB Peters from KC.
TheKanataThrilla (21-Feb) : I guess that is a highter round pick
TheKanataThrilla (21-Feb) : Suggestion was a 2nd round pick. I would want a lower round pick. I think that is too much. A 3rd or 4th seems about right.
Smokey (21-Feb) : Cobb and WHAT PICK ?
TheKanataThrilla (21-Feb) : A suggestion I saw was a trade of Cobb and a Pick for Peters. I think that would be a great move.
Smokey (21-Feb) : Sitton was drafted be GB in 2008, not a young man at this point, but still is a "bear" of a man.
Cheesey (21-Feb) : Sitton? Maybe if the price is right.
Cheesey (21-Feb) : I doubt the Packers would try to resign Sutton. But who knows? If the price is right?
Zero2Cool (20-Feb) : Bears declining option on Josh Sitton. He'll be Free Agent.
Zero2Cool (20-Feb) : Chiefs CB Marcus Peters trade rumors -- come to Packers!
