Green Bay — The label irritates Randall Cobb. Even if people are praising the receiver, not criticizing the him, he isn't a fan of the "slot receiver" title.

My answer is Yes. I think Ross can do about as good a job as Cobb. Johnson and Dorsey, maybe even others are possibilities, but IMO, the difference between now and the bad old days is more about overall talent for special teams on the roster and/or better coaching.

Yes, absolutely, and I don't like them running him up the middle now, either...you want a speedy guy for that, use Harris. I like him better where he's being chased by safeties and nickel backs instead of linebackers getting shots at him.

I believe so. He's our #1 slot receiver. Why risk his health using him on returns.

I would say yes. Randall Cobb is going to be the Packers top receiver in years to come and an injury can cripple the WR core.
Ross should be capable enough to take over the returner position, allowing Cobb to have 100% focus on offense.

No, unless someone else can give the Packers equal or better field position as consistently as he does on Kick and Punt Returns.

Personally I hope Ross (or anyone else for that matter) develops into the type of return man that will allow the Packers to take those duties away from Cobb but until he shows that he can do it I say no.

I know prevailing wisdom says don't use your top position players as returners but how many times do kick returners actually get hurt? One of the Bears biggest mistakes was to take the return duties away from Hester to try to make him a receiver. Now I am not saying in any way shape or form that Hester ever had Cobb's talents as a receiver or that Cobb has Hester's talent as a return man (although I am sure some homer will say Cobb is a better return man than Hester) I am not saying that at all. I think you put the best guys for the position on the field no matter what it is and right now Cobb is our best return man

If someone shows that they can be a consistent as Cobb in the return duties then by all means make the change and reduce the risk. On the other hand if you take away potential field position just because you are afraid the guy might get hurt I think you are playing from a position of playing not to lose. In games that are out of reach put someone else back there. If Cobb is not 100% put someone else back there. If the game doesn't matter for playoff seeding or whatever, put someone else back there but in the case where the game matters or is still on the line you put your best return man out there.

You put Cobb back there and he gets hurt and yeah, you will have some pissed off Packers fans but if you put other guys back there and the fumble or our return game sucks those fans won't be too happy either.

How good would Green have been last year if it wasn't for the knee injury in '11?

Wasn't worth it imo. Not even close. And Cobb's gonna be central to our offense this year, by all accounts.

uffda udfa: Nope. Too much pressure for them.
Zero2Cool: NFL MVP's don't seem to win the Super Bowl the same year, do they?
Zero2Cool: Panthers played uninspired and predictable, actually (and sadly) reminded me of the Packers. :(
Zero2Cool: Thanks 68md, good to know some notice and appreciate.
Zero2Cool: Holding a different or less than popular view is perfectly fine. You fail to understand this even though I repeatedly tell you. It's annoyin
uffda udfa: Good night, Smokey.
Smokey: good night uffda.
uffda udfa: Wonder how Colts fans feel, and Mr. Irsay?
uffda udfa: Today, anyway.
Smokey: DEFENSE DOES WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS TT !
uffda udfa: Carolina will never be back to a SB under Cam Newton.
uffda udfa: Denver D just dominated the current MVP and the former this year.
uffda udfa: Cam for LVP in the SB. No character.
uffda udfa: Newton is a wuss. MVP? LOL.
uffda udfa: #VonFire
uffda udfa: People who have passion and expectations aren't A words. Accepting less than the best doesn't make you not one either.
uffda udfa: Sorry, Kevin...maybe you called Dakota an A word and not me? Had to be one of us.
uffda udfa: Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement in a cool way via twitter. What could've been in Green Bay, Marshawn!
uffda udfa: It's okay... you called me the "A" word. All because I don't tickle the ears. I get it.
uffda udfa: So someone like Buck deserves privileges because he's a better fan than me due to his flattering opinions?
68md: wet blanket ? He works his ass off to keep the place going for you ?
Smokey: Zero, Why are you such a wet blanket host ? A real SB "Chat" should have been a priority for this site. Wet Blanket strikes again.
Zero2Cool: BTW, I'm not saying you're an asshole. I'm stating a fact, that's all.
Zero2Cool: You don't get it. You confuse right and privilege. Assholes don't deserve privileges. Get it, got it, good.
uffda udfa: Talib playing a Burfict half so far.
uffda udfa: You have an R rated section on a Packers board. I think moving the guys you really don't want rocking the boat to their own forum is a great
uffda udfa: I think the same was likely said at KFAN when it was suggested they have a Packers show. I believe they still have it. I used to produce it
Zero2Cool: Seriously think what you're asking and do so before asking. Unreal.
uffda udfa: Aaron walking gingerly in that SB MVP introduction thing.
uffda udfa: May I suggest something? How about a "Packers Cynics" sub forum. A place for the Dakota's and me. I would exclusively post there.
Zero2Cool: One way or another, there is going to be a big change coming to PH.
uffda udfa: I don't want to be difficult but you do for some reason. I know you've been dealing with a lot.
Zero2Cool: Precisely what I thought.
uffda udfa: Nah, that's okay. I already asked.
Zero2Cool: If you want your name changed, you need to send me a PM with the name change. Thank you.
