I don't know, I've read that Dom Capers tried everything at his disposal. That does seem hard to believe, but it's probably true. It was just a combination of poor preparation, coaching, and a relative lack of talent on defense. I would have to think that a good defensive coordinator could have at least contained their offense a little better, and we saw that at times throughout the rest of the playoffs. The Baltimore defense was more talented, but were they truly THAT much more talented than the Packers, especially after losing Ngata? If nothing else, they were as slow, or slower, than the Packers defense. They were undoubtedly tougher and had better leadership, though, so maybe that made all the difference. Although, the 49'ers did seem to move the ball on offense very well in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl.

I would have to thin that a good defensive coordinator wouldn't have been that horribly unprepared for a playoff game to begin with.

With Kap and even Rodgers, keeping contain is CRITICAL. We didn't do that.

We did have a spy on Kaepernick.

Unfortunately it was Erik Walden.

well if Walden was the spy the Caper's should've been fired. Not sure how a DE that is extremely slow can cover an athlete like Kaepernick.

On a side note, though which team cap he wears isn't really a big deal, Kaepernik really looks like an idiot in any baseball cap. And the overabundance of tattoos makes him look like a small child that got left alone with a sharpie.

I am sure you know this.. but Walden is backer.. not a DE.

Secondly.. whom other in the front seven has the wheels to keep up with an athlete that can run a sub 4.4 forty?

We have a secondary that doesn't have an abundance of sure physical tacklers.. simply put Kaepernick is a matchup issue for defenses... but I will agree.. he were not properly prepared for that game.

And guys like Walden played very undisciplined ball.. couple that with a defensive line that struggles to get penetration you get what we got. Gashed.
I think when there's enough will and aggression, there's no shortage of talent either.

I really don't get the criticism of tattoos on an athlete.. and this is coming from a guy in his 40's tattoo-less.

If one wants to decorate their body and apparently needs the attention to be drawn in that manner.. so be it. Doesn't make them any less of a person or ball player.

It cracks me up each time I see it.. it is not for me.. but what do I care if they are tatted up.

I overheard Kaepernick saying he wanted to lick my balls.

Fuck him.

He can Tat up all he wants...and I can wear a speedo at the beach to express myself too, and I would look every bit as ridiculous.

I hate using 'spies'. It takes one of your players out of the defense and creates holes, just to watch over the QB in case he runs. I would rather they had switched up to more zone defenses, with the short zone man on the outside having responsibility to contain the run. Playing man-to-man, the defenders too often had their backs to the QB.
