Apparently, the performance of Packers backup quarterback Vince Young has led to a decision by coach Mike McCarthy as to who will back up Aaron Rodgers.

So I guess the question now is... do the Packers keep Coleman as the #3 or try to sneak him onto the PS again?

My guess... PS... but we'll have to wait and see.

PS.

If another team tries to nab him, we'll just replace him.

Speaking of other teams trying to nab Packers QBs...
I read that the Vikings are already trying to sign QB Harrell [sarcasm]

Surprised only in how poorly he showed this preseason. Not at all surprised he was cut today. It's official. Young will be the No. 2.

I don't know why we waste so much time on noodle armed quarterbacks, especially when the last twenty years we've had spectacular quarterback play. Matt Flynn is way better than Harrell and he is not an NFL quality starting quarterback.

He had plenty of opportunities to show
his stuff, and I wasn't impressed at
all with how he did.
If we would have needed him to win a game,
I had no confidence in his ability.

Coleman is me is a future Tony Romo... he's just got a year or 2 more to develop.

Harrell has been up and down each of the last two preseasons. For a guy entering his fourth year with the team, he just never made the jump Flynn did. Young ain't great, but he's an inexpensive veteran who has been an NFL starter before and can add a wildcat kinda wrinkle to the offense (if McCarthy chooses to use it) and can probably make a spot start or two in case Rodgers gets nicked up and has to miss a game or two in the middle of a playoff race. He can continue to learn the offense going into the regular season in practice and holding a clipboard on Sundays.

It was an interesting experiment to see if they could groom Graham into something more, but he just doesn't have the skillset to make much more than a third stringer on a team that usually only carries two QBs i.e. he's gonna be cut. I'd be shocked if Coleman got plucked off waivers in all honesty. He gets another year of development on the PS.

I hope the Bills and Jets don't know about Coleman and don't find out about him. Looks like they might be in the market for another QB.

Mark Sanchez exits with injured throwing shoulder

Kevin Kolb out with “concussion-like symptoms”

I'd like to see Coleman next training camp. He's got some pretty good potential. Weather it can be devoloped or not is another question but Rodgers also poor his first two years and look how he turned it around.

I've been calling for this since the 1st preseason game tried to post it but someone felt it wasn't warranted anyway he stinks and for my money let Vince young carry the clipboard and pray Aaron stays healthy !!

So it is Finley's fault that Harrell was cut. If he catches that td pass Young would have been released. ;)

"We" being HARRELL.

The whole point of having a running game is to draw 8 guys into the box, so you can run wild over the top. PROBLEM: You have to be able to throw it that far.

You can't have a running game with a noodle armed quarterback, but you should be able to run the ball at will with the best quarterback in the league.

Nonstopdrivel (3m) : I don't want to talk about it.
Porforis (4m) : You're tearing me apart, Rourke!
Nonstopdrivel (4m) : (See "Moar Randomness" thread.)
Nonstopdrivel (5m) : It's a reference to The Room. I'm sorry, I forgot that not everyone knows about that movie. That's just my favorite line from that movie.
Porforis (2h) : I... Can't tell if serious or The Room reference.
Barfarn (5h) : Perhaps no or inadequte coverage in general
Barfarn (5h) : I’d guess “no help” refers to men not being covered for breast cancer
wpr (7h) : O no. Sorry to hear this NSD.
Zero2Cool (8h) : Rourke, sorry to hear that, but who doesn't want to help you?
Cheesey (18h) : Oh geez, nonstop. Like was said, we have your back.
TheKanataThrilla (18h) : NSD sorry your post is a bit of a mind fuck, but obviously brother those here have your back.
Nonstopdrivel (18h) : I got the test results back! I definitely have breast cancer.
Nonstopdrivel (18h) : Everything goes wrong at once. Nobody wants to help me, and I'm dying!
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : Zone defenses always must answer this question: is it better to invest in top CBs, or better to invest in pass rushers who can make a CB’s job easier?
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : Packers giving away $500 Pro Shop gift card and 11 2018 Official Draft Caps
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : can't restrict
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : you did it now
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : 123456
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : too bad you gonna cry
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : don't break it
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : something here
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : You can do it too!
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : Who the hell gives a shit about Sat/Sun now? 3rd to 7th round? F U
Zero2Cool (24-Apr) : I thought Sat/Sun was great. You make a weekend of it. Have buddies over, cookout, etc.
TheKanataThrilla (24-Apr) : During the afternoons I tend to get caught up in family routines. I don't mind that for the later rounds.
TheKanataThrilla (24-Apr) : I now take Friday off work. It is a bit annoying, but I do find it fun at night as I can crack a few beers and enjoy. Sucks if they trade out of the first round though.
wpr (24-Apr) : I liked the Sat Sun version.
beast (23-Apr) : HELL YEAH! ... the draft was SOOOO MUCH BETTER in the ol Saturday/Sunday format... only people that I've heard disagree are those that don't really follow the draft and just random get updates on thei
beast (23-Apr) : Key word there is "proven"... not if they're true, but if you can prove it. Jerry Jones said the same thing for Greg Hardy, it wasn't "proven".
Zero2Cool (23-Apr) : Flat out honesty from 49ers GM
Zero2Cool (23-Apr) : John Lynch: “if these charges are proven true, if Reuben did hit this young lady, he won’t be part of our organization moving forward.”
Smokey (23-Apr) : 49ers / Bye Week / Rams
Zero2Cool (23-Apr) : Brian Gutekunst: “Draft was way better when it was Saturday and Sunday.”
Zero2Cool (23-Apr) : With pick #14, @CFD22 has the @Packers selecting UTSA DE Marcus Davenport.
Porforis (23-Apr) : He'll probably resort to buying and using Chicago Bears tickets.
