The Green Bay Packers set their 53-man roster on Saturday. Now, they - like every team around the NFL - will take Sunday to set their practice squad.

WR Myles White
WR Charles Johnson
TE Jake Stoneburner
DB James Nixon
QB Scott Tolzien

That's a start, who else?

Looking for a couple of O-lineman to show up soon.

I like Stoneburner and Nixon too. Nixon's the dude who ran a 4.1, isn't he? Wouldn't mind if they added Kevin Dorsey as well.

I doubt it's a coincidence the Packers signed former 49ers QB Tolzien. Hopefully he has pretty good knowledge of their playbook/audible calls.

I think Packers put Dorsey on ir???

Just another way to keep him around until next year.

My understanding is the Packers release/injury them. Which means they releasing him, but can't official yet because his injury (toe). As teams aren't allowed released injured player with out an injury settlement, so they offical couldn't release Dorsey (toe injury) until an injury settlement is agreed on (or the year is up).

I remember the Super Bowl year, the Packers released/cut somebody but he refused all injury settlements, as he wanted to rehab the whole year and then come back to the Packers training camp. Everyone on the roster got a ring other than that guy... because the Packers tried hard to release him but he refused, so basically they didn't consider him on the roster. The other IR guys (which the Packers didn't release/IR) got a ring.

I believe you're talking about WR Terrell Sinkfield... who ran the extremely fast time but also is extremely raw and has been signed to and cut by 4 teams already (before week 1 of his rookie year).

A month with the Dolphins (not all of which he could work out for them before of offseason rules)
8 days with the Packers
15 days with the Bills
4 days with the Giants

I think he's more of a track guy than a football guy. He's too unpolished and raw (as of right now) and doesn't seem to have a natural instict for it... (like RB Green didn't haven't natural instict for reading blocking even though he has all the physical tools). Though who knows, Sinkfield might get a lot better with some time on the practice squads and/or off season training.

Also the Packers were reported to work out WR/RB (most likely only WR in pros) Sam McGuffie... who's another one of those raw but fast guys. He might be an interesting 3rd WR for the Packers on the practice squad if they wanted a 3rd.

As for Nixon... looks like he might of run a 4.31 which is still VERY fast. Shields ran a 4.30 ... but Shields also has the natural lighting quick reaction time when trailing which not all "fast" guys have the reaction time when trailing. Though Nixon do better than Shields in the 20 Yrd Shuttle and 3-Cone Drill according to those links. (links inside their 40 times)
