Jason Wilde said: GREEN BAY — If the National Football League isn't going to make Mike McCarthy deliver any sort of injury update on Mondays, then the Green Bay Packers coach has decided that he won't be doing so this season.
But while McCarthy declined to answer a question Monday looking for an update on Eddie Lacy in the wake of the concussion the rookie running back sustained during Sunday's 38-20 victory over the Washington Redskins — which is within his rights, according to NFL rules — the coach did leave a couple of breadcrumbs as to how Lacy was doing.
When asked if he had seen Lacy, who suffered his concussion when he took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Brandon Meriweather on his only carry Sunday, McCarthy replied, "Yeah, he was in the team (meeting) ... No, I didn't. I have not seen him today. I saw him after the game. I thought he looked good."
With fullback John Kuhn having suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's game, the Packers' lone healthy running backs are James Starks, who replaced Lacy and ran for 132 yards, and Johnathan Franklin, a rookie fourth-round pick from UCLA who had an up-and-down training camp. Franklin dressed but did not play in the regular-season opener at San Francisco, then played only on special teams against the Redskins.
Asked if he felt the team might need to add a running back for Sunday's game at Cincinnati — which would indicate concern about Lacy's availability — McCarthy suggested that he and general manager Ted Thompson didn't think so.
"Ted and I met today, and it was just on a number of different things, and roster always comes up," McCarthy said. "We talk about the roster a couple times a week, but we're putting together a game plan based on the people that are here."

It's not like a concussion follows a predictable path like other injuries. It will persist for as long as you're showing symptoms. I highly doubt he was sans symptoms within 24 hours of the game, so M.M. doesn't really reveal anything about the severity of the concussion.

Don't forget Cobb, and if we need a FB, there's always Quarless or Raji.

I suspect Morgan Burnett AND Eddie Lacy to be out this week. Unless Burnett is 100%, he's out.
Lacy, I think with Starks performance, that just bought Lacy a week on the inactive list to ensure a full recovery though the BYE.

Yeah Lacy will not suit up. I can't imagine he will have recovered that fast.
Like Dulak says I hate the early bye but it is helpful with Lacy. I am sure they will wish it was later in the season when someone else is banged up.
Dulak I do not think they get the early byes any more than anyone else does.

Its funny because someone posted in another thread that the Packers always seem to get late bye weeks and this week 4 one was odd. I started another thread detailing the Packers bye weeks if anyone wants to get into an argument...I mean discussion, on that.

I expect that Lacy was concussed, but has an official source actually come out and said as much? It appears from the video that he was knocked out, and again I would expect that would also likely cause a concussion, but are we 100% sure it actually did? In other words, is everybody who gets knocked out concussed?

Lacy wasn't just flash KOd he couldn't even get himself up off the ground after it happened (Like Rodgers concussion in the Lions game). It looked like a pretty bad one and I wouldn't expect him to play this coming week at all.
