He may be physically fine, but there is going to be question about mentally. Couple hits like he has taken can get in his head and cause a terminal case of alligator arms.

I'd give him a little bit more credit than that. He's a football player.

Hopefully what they say is true - just precautionary - and he is fine.

I agree only that it may not be a case of alligator arms, it may be whether he and his family want to him to continue playing football.

I may be in the minority, but I thought the hit looked fairly routine yet obviously provided a big scare.

I'm just glad he is OK. That was a big scare, and a relief to know this was just precautionary.

I don't want to say "I was at the last game Jermichael played in" if it is going to be due to an injury.

Agreed. The physical aspects are more important here...

You had to feel for his family while he was laying there. Remember his son's comments from the last time he got hurt, and you know it had to seem like he was laying there forever.

Thats what I told my wife when we watched the game - his son will be like " SEE Dad! ... I dont want you to play football EVER again!"

Diagnosis I just heard was "spinal cord bruise". That'll mean weekly MRIs to watch as the contusion heals. If Jameel McClain is any indication, it could be a long road ahead for Finley.

Look, I'm happy it doesn't sound more serious, but Matthew's was held out of a game this year for "precautionary" reasons, and hasn't seen the field again this year (IIRC).

He was held out 2nd half of a game as a precaution then started the next game. He happened to suffer a different unrelated injury in that next game that required surgery.

Either way it's a different situation to be held out of a game for precautionary reasons and to be held into the hospital overnight for precautionary reasons.

Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain makes his first start 10 months after injury

Quote:
Since getting hurt against the Washington Redskins last year, McClain was told by at least one doctor that he would never play football again. However, he was on the field in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I think it might best to plan on Finley not playing another snap this year.
