This seems like a somewhat fortunate matchup given the time of the year. Both teams have seen a number of their best players go down at times this season, and both have had very disappointing seasons. My ASSumption is that after the beatdown on Thanksgiving that the coaches will change something, anything, to make a difference. If you need to stop a losing streak the Falcons seem like a pretty good way to try.

The only team that looks worse than the Queens.

Must-win strike team football.

Their running game took a bit hit this season. That should play to our favor.

I think this is THE game where the players have to reach deep and show what they are made of. The Lions game was such a debacle from a lack of pride and lack of intensity standpoint that this next game must prove to themselves and everyone that they are made of more than that and go out and do it.

I'm not talking about backs against the wall playoff picture-wise. I'm talking every player looking in the mirror and challenging themselves.

Win or lose, whatever. Just don't put what they put out on that field against Detroit. I can't back that and I know no one here can either. That was a buffalo stampede on both sides of the ball and was sickening to watch.

I know the yak about the calls and the coaches, and it looked like the Lions knew what we were going to do. Well, duh, with such lack of effort, pride, or, intensity as they showed it's going to look like that.

Time, to a man, to step up and go to war and not just go out and be slaughtered.

But Aaron Rodgers is even more amazing!!

No internal discussions about shutting Aaron Rodgers down, and when he's cleared to play, he will. Tomorrow Matt Flynn will take starter reps.

I was as down on the Pack as anybody last week but I got to thinking about it and I've let off the gas there a little bit.

Not that this team, the D in particular, doesn't have much to prove and it's certainly put up or shut up time.

Last week was a short week having to play on Thursday. Probably couldn't have happened at a worse time. Trying to work in a backup QB and then the problems shuffling the Oline. DLinemen beat up and really needing time to rest and mend.

At a time when the team probably needed the rest and the prep time more than any other time of the season they got the opposite. The perfect storm and Detroit blew out their bow.

Now they get 10 days, more rest, and more prep time. It's do or die but they did get a couple guys back and hopefully the D will unite and respond and Flynn will actually be ready.

I predict a win with Flynn, FINALLY, and a momentum boost that had to come right now. I also predict a Philly win over Detroit and we're right back in the hunt. Our A player will be back from then on and that alone will be enough to pucker the Lions butt holes where they will choke out.

This game will be at Lambeau too, right? Huge factor.

If the D shows up, I like our chances.

I can't believe I am saying this but I don't have any faith in Flynn and our secondary is to weak. The Falcons actually showed the passing game last week and White is getting healthy. I hope I am wrong but our team just is to soft

I'm far more worried about our defensive front 7.

If this team is ever going to win a game its this Sunday.

1. Can't stop the run or pass
2. Can't pressure the qb
3. They turn the ball over and struggle to force turnovers

So basically it comes down to us being the home team Laughing

Time of Possession might help the D.

Not giving up runs at 6-10 yards a pop might help time of possession.

McCarthy was asked about the weather and the Falcons come Sunday and he had a typical coach answer saying that is a "loser mentality" if you are looking at that as a team...

Well, I see it differently than McCarthy and the example was right in front of your face this past Monday night. A dome team playing outside in bad weather absolutely sucked ass.

Look at this...Atlanta has played in NINE domed games and in THREE outside games no further north than Carolina. Take that as you'd like, but you can't look past that advantage. What is Atlanta going to do? Turn their AC to 12 degrees in HOTlanta and practice? No.

Its an advantage and I hope it comes into play.

If Rodgers plays, this shouldn't be a game. Packers win by 14.

If Flynn plays, this game will be close. He is going to have to play great so that the Packers can open the run game up.

Steven Jackson will most likely run all over our defense since they can't even tackle an infant. I am so down about this defense, I have no faith in them playing even a decent game. Softest defense in the entire NFL.

Packers- 24
Falcons- 21

Here’s the full injury report:
•T David Bakhtiari (illness, did not practice)
•TE Brandon Bostick (concussion, full participation)
•C Evan Dietrich-Smith (knee/ankle, did not practice)
•LB Jamari Lattimore (quadriceps, full participation)
•OLB Mike Neal (abdomen, did not practice)
•OLB Nick Perry (foot, limited participation)
•DT Ryan Pickett (knee, did not practice)
•QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone, limited participation)
•DE C.J. Wilson (ankle, did not practice)

Hopefully Pickett is just a cautionery move, but have to agree, without Pickett, Neal and Wilson, that means The d-line is going to be overused if The Packers offense cannot sustain drives.

Nick Perry will be the "elephant" run stuffing OLB on the left side instead of Neal. We'll get Lattimore back, though. Sucks losing our three primary run stuffers.

Thing is, the Falcons might be said to be playing for a high draft pick. Then again, I might also say that about our defense.

Perry has had all of his sacks (3 caused fumbles) from the right side. I think it's time to switch him and clay. Clay can make an impact from anywhere on the field and we have another guy who kills it from one side and more or less disappears on the other but Capers is being slow to make a switch.
