Quote:
Good leaders are made not born. If you have the desire and willpower, you can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience.

To inspire your workers into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things you must be, know, and, do. These do not come naturally, but are acquired through continual work and study. Good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills; they are NOT resting on their laurels.

Let's define leadership. Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership attributes, such as beliefs, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills. Although your position as a manager, supervisor, lead, etc. gives you the authority to accomplish certain tasks and objectives in the organization, this power does not make you a leader, it simply makes you the boss. Leadership differs in that it makes the followers want to achieve high goals, rather than simply bossing people around.

I agree 100%

That is the part of Brett this team really misses. They need someone to take over the lockerroom and lead this young team.

Canidates?
Tauscher - playing too poorly to be effective
Kampy- Likely guy, but is it in hi persona?
Barnett - see Tauscher
Hawk - Too hurt Aaron Rodgers - Too new, in a year or two...yes
Woodson...Too quiet
Pickett - see Tauscher
Grant - No
DD or Jennings - When has a WR ever been a leader of a team?

Yes - this team needs a leader to emerge!

Brett did not lead this team last year. He kept to himself. He said that numerous times. Al Harris is a/the leader IMO. He seems to be most vocal of the leader type guys.

I think this team has quite a few leaders: Driver, Barnett, Kampman, and Woodson, to name a few. And although Rodgers is young, he already seems to have the respect of his teammates.

Go back to my orginal definition. I honestly don't see any of those guys stepping up and taking the reigns of leadership. They do a little jawing here and there when things are going their way, but overall they don't live up to the role.

beast (16m) : For the secondary, I think Burnett/Haha are the leaders.
Smokey (46m) : GB needs a new motto : DEFENSE RULES ! , is intended to change the direction of the Packers focus moving forward .
Smokey (49m) : Thank You Zero.
Zero2Cool (53m) : Great reading a thread and seeing "defense rules" spammed in them all. Great reading material.
Smokey (1h) : DEFENSE RULES !
Zero2Cool (1h) : Think you need to defensive leaders. Front Seven and Secondary. We seem to lack both. Daniels is closest.
beast (1h) : Packers players had a right to complain when they were being bullied by Mike Daniels... just talking about Packers ;-) jk
Zero2Cool (1h) : It was the 26th largest margin since 1940. Feels much worse

Smokey (8h) : It amazes me that you've remained in this forum for as long as you have.
Smokey (8h) : This is not your schoolyard to bully others, in fact I was that kid who stood up to the bully and kicked his ass.
Smokey (8h) : In the end the bully ended up in prison as everyone else grew up and moved on with their lives.
Smokey (8h) : I rate you with the hated schoolyard bully that tried to terrorize others to feel himself big.
Smokey (8h) : U2, it is obvious that you don't care if people like you or not. Well people don't.
uffda udfa (10h) : It's the same day every day at 1265. They crave sameness.
