Damn, looks like EDS is GONE!!!!!!

I posted the same thing about Sam Shields about a week ago.

Let's hope this works for Evan Dietrich-Smith also.

4 starting centers in 4 years is not the way to treat your all everything QB!!!!!

tick tock tick tock time is running out.

Wouldn't mind bringing EDS back. He proved himself to be better than I thought he COULD be this year. That said, he's still gonna have to beat out Tretter.

He's not gonna have to beat out Tretter, The Giants or another team, will sign him as their starter.

Then we all can sit back and watch as the Packers O-line tries, ONE MORE TIME, to come together as a unit, while all along Rodgers will be running for his life because The Packers have an unproven 2nd year guy trying to become a starting center.

WHEN ARE SOME OF YOU GONNA REALIZE THERE IS MORE TO JUST SNAPPING THE BALL TO THE QB WHEN YOU PLAY CENTER?????

The Giants are also the front runners to get James Jones and Quarless, main reason is Mcadoo is their new OC

We've got two veteran Gs on each side, either of whom could make the calls for him if he's a meat head.

Either the Packers will make EDS a good enough offer to keep him, or else they have a pretty good idea that Tretter is decent.

True, there is more to playing center than snapping, but what you CAN get by with in the Packer system is having a bull who can open holes up the middle. The new age kind of pulling center hasn't arrived in Green Bay yet - not with EDS, not with Tretter. The good news is, it's cheaper and easier to find that old-fashioned kind to blast holes up the middle.

Yeah you do. It would suck to be a Packer fan if the rules were like baseball.

I respect your right to have your opinion but that doesn't mean I agree with it or respect you for having it.

Yep the point is that there is no use in getting bent out of shape about this stuff. We have to take the good with the bad.

Hey, Daryn Colledge looks to be available.

Can he play center?

Sarcasm
None of the above. It wouldn't have been a wasted vote. Obama and Romney -- Those were the wasted votes.

Indirectly this solves two problems.

Sitton back to RG
Colledge mans his LG position that he did well enough to help the Packers win XLV
Lang moves to C with Tretter backing him up

Seriously, Colledge is 32 and I don't think much history of injuries. It wouldn't hurt to bring him in for the vet. minimum or near it as a backup.

It may mean something that no Packers free agents were signed on day 1.
I'll bet that Shields wouldn't have been either.
