If this guy is sitting in round 6, I would love if Ted Thompson took him. Unfortunate injury and supposedly he wouldn't even be ready until the end of the NFL season. So much upside though.

I know nothing of the guy but if he has that much potential and the injury is one that does not really threaten that potential (ie full recovery) I wouldn't mind spending a pick on the guy. Is 6th round where he is picked to go or is it because of the injury? If the injury is the only reason he falls why not shelf a guy for a year? Hell they seem to do it with their first rounders all the time.

I respect your right to have your opinion but that doesn't mean I agree with it or respect you for having it.

Got some new ones.

Jeff Janis WR 6-3 219 Saginaw Valley State

Dude runs a 4.42 40 time. 44 games played. 246 rec, 4305 yds, 17.5 ave with 46 TDs.

Ethan Westbrooks DE 6-3.5 267 West Texas A&M

4.90 40 time. In 29 games had 103 tackles 497.5 TFL and 26 sacks

Charlie at Walter's just had Janis mocked to us... His is historically one of the most accurate mocks around. Interesting. R5.

I'd like to see what everyone's definition of a sleeper is... some of these guys listed are mocked as high as Round 1. To me, a sleeper is a guy you find very late in the draft a 6th or 7th rounder, or a UDFA.

I go with a definition of a player that's not being talked about as much as other players that I think they are just as good as. Allen Robinson for example to me looks as good as any 1st/2nd round WR besides Watkins but I've seen very little said about him compared to other players in that range.

Uffda, I think there are some who may project higher than R6-7 but are more off the radar. Kind of like this kid:

Zach Moore DE 6-5 269 out of Concordia MN. 33 3/4" arms. This is one big dude from a Division II school. Could be a real gem.

Another one:
Darrell Johnson OLB 6-1 248 East Carolina. Wow. This guy seems to have a very similar profile to Desmond Bishop, I mean, in terms of playing style and demeanor:

Robinson got a lot of love early on but his slow 40 time curtailed his buzz a bit. I've seen him mocked as high as Round 1...not lately, but he's been there before.

I agree with you...his YouTube clip is as good as any of them.

Sleeper for me means someone I hope 31 other GMs aren't thinking about, but Ted is.

1. Nat Berhe. (unfortunately, while people aren't talking about him, I seriously doubt GMs aren't thinking about him. I won't be surprised if he goes to someone as high as early third. For some reason this guy makes me think more of Nick Collins than any other safety out there. And that's what GB's looking for, right?
2. (seconding what play2win says) Zach Moore.
3. (seconding play2win again) Derrell Johnson.
4. Matt Armstrong, C, Grand Valley State.
5. Rajion Neal, RB, Tennessee. Packers don't need a RB, but adding a pass-catching RB late would be okay. This guy may have hands second only to Charles Sims in this draft. Probably not a true sleeper, though.
6. Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon. I don't know if he counts as a sleeper, since his off-the-field stuff makes him visible. But he's someone I expect going higher than a lot think.
7. Marcel Jensen, TE, Fresno State.
8. Sam Longo, OT, Cincinnati.
9. Jamie Meder, DL, Ashland.
10. Brock Coyle, ILB, Montana.

That is the definition of UDFA. Naturally every player has been thought of by the other GMs to some degree or another.

To me a sleeper is someone who does better than their drafted position. Someone who is drafted in the 4th and starts immediate is a sleeper. Someone who is drafted in the 3rd-5th round this year and is All Pro next year. (I am avoiding Pro Bowl as it is a tainted award.)

My definition of a sleeper would reflect some of the guys on the current Packers roster...

Casey Hayward- Was projected a 3-4th rounder, Ted comes in with a 2nd round selection and he plays to that potential or higher in that first year. Exceeds his draft stock/projection by the many.

Mike Daniels- Was projected as a 4-5th rounder and was selected in the 4th round by the Packers in 2012. Was one of the best defensive linemen on the Packers roster, playing above his 4th round projection.

Josh Sitton- Can't find any draft projections on him, wasn't invited to the NFL Combine and was selected in the 4th round in 2008. Pro Bowl alternate in 2010 and Pro Bowl alternate in 2013 (played).

I'd like to use Jarrett Boykin because he is becoming a good player but he was undrafted.

Yerko undrafted players certainly can be sleepers too. Any of them who succeed like Williams and Shields have to be thought of as sleepers.
