This move saves the Packers no money

Not this year.

Even with the cap hit GB will face, we'll still be adding money to our cap.

You don't watch the games much do ya bud? :)

KGB, can't stop the run, Packers are weak against the run, KGB is only a pass rusher and since hurting his knee he has not been the same force. We have Jason Hunter back, healthy and he's consider a pass rush specialist. He's also younger too.

Harrell is a first round draft pick in whom the Packers need to see what they have in him. It's in second season and we have very little to go off of.

I shall wait and see.

I hope and pray Harrell can play.

KGB has been a great servant to the Pack, it has just come out of the blue to me that's all really.

I trust the Packers organisation.

That's what they are paid for to make these decisons.

I'm just a fan watching from afar.

I felt the same last season when Henderson left but I saw that one coming with his age etc. I just didn't see this happening. Well not at this point of the season anyways.

Don't forget here in the UK it is not wall to wall saturation coverage of the NFL or the Pack. We have to rely in the internet for news on the Pack. Only major breaking stories make the sports news channels and then only as 3rd or 4th headlne stories after soccer, rugby etc. In the US you have more analysis of the game on an hourly, daily basis.

I wish I had posted this earlier this morning when I read an article saying the Packers had until 3pm today, but I'm not really shocked by it. There's been some conflicting statements about KGB's health, he's getting older, can't stop the run and he's lost his speed. With Montgomery and Hunter both healthy and active, it made it logical to let KGB go.

You might be in the UK, but you can count on this website to bring you the latest news and some good highlights and maybe a view of the game as well for ya ;)

While lots has been said about Kabeers amazing class I just wonder where you guys think he could end up going. Do any of you think he would be a good fit as a pass rushing LB in a 3-4 or would he get exposed in pass coverage. Or will he stick to the 4-3 or simply retire?

I was thinking about this and the Patriots struck me as a team that use veterans very well on defense, taking advantage of their unique talents and downplaying the downside. Who knows though, I don't really have a clue.

according to another message board KGB is a proven asset and Ted Thompson just wants him gone cuz he is a vet..

By end of the season Ted Thompson will cut DD as well since he is a vet and is a BF buddy

Shocked that it happened, but it made sense. He only has a half a sack and just hasn't been the same player he was a year ago.

Why? He's an awesome person, but the player seems to be lost. He's barely gotten any pressure this year. I was expecting this earlier.

Not surprised about the move but surprised about the timing. Hopefully Montgomery and Thompson bring it.
