I can not guarantee his safety here in the States. (He was in the building next door when the shootings took place at NIU last year. His sister was walking to the building where the shootings took place at the very moment it occurred.) I have long since turned over the responsibility of watching over my children to the Lord. He does a better job than I could ever do. I am concerned for him but not fearful. He will come home. I am certain of it. I do miss him. I wish he didn't have to put his life on hold for a year. By the time he gets back he will have missed at least 2 full years of college maybe more. He has a young lady who has let him know that if he were to propose, her answer is "Yes". I wish he didn't have to face the hardships that are ahead of him. But this is something he and I have talked about since he was 16 and thinking about joining the National Guard. He is 22 now or will be in 6 weeks. |

With all the crime in today's world, theres no guarentee of safety anywhere on this earth. |

wpr....my thoughts and prayers are with your son and your family. Our next door neighbor's husband is on his third tour as a civilian heavy equipment driver over there. He doesn't have to be there, but as a veteran of Vietnam, he said this is the least I can do to help. We all pray for him every day and will now include your son in our prayers.
May God look over your son and protect him and all those that are serving everywhere around this world.
