Naw naw naw.

You got it all wrong, son! lol

We've always been, first and foremost, Viking fans. The addition of YOUR beloved QB to our team excites a few of us, thus why this forum is hoppin' with Viking fans.

thanks. though the system fits favre, i just think it's out of the vikings philosophy to throw the ball 30-40 times a game, which will happen with favre under center.

You're right.. It IS out of the Vikings philosophy to throw 30-40 times a game. Which is why it isn't going to happen. As much as the average NFL fan likes to think this team is now Favre's team.. It isn't. It still is, and will continue to be, Adrian Peterson's team.

Favre came to Minnesota because he won't HAVE to throw 30-40 times a game. Hense the theory of it being a 'match made in heaven'. He'll be asked to make some throws.. but not consistently, like was almost required of him in GB and eventually in NY.

We'll see how this turns out soon enough.

but can he be that q/b that WONT throw?

Just look at how he performed with out Holmgren/Mccarthy

He needs a guy to control him

But as you say we will see

That's what I am thinking - we all know Favre has a throw first mentatlity.

I think Sherman and Rhodes lacked the balls to coral Favre. Favre is a coaches son, he's a fierce competitor and he needs to be coached. That's why I believe he fared so well with McCarthy. I don't remember Sherman ever saying 'we need less interceptions and more smart decisions by our qb position' during the middle of the season.

Right and Childress has not shown in any capacity that he will be able to keep Favre reigned in. This is going to be an interesting thing to watch.

His worse years as q/b I think came when Bevell was his coach..

You guys can't seriously think that Favre is a downgrade from T Jackson?

Honestly?

Favre isn't the QB of the 3 MVPs in the row but T Jackson? I'm excited as a fan of Favre to see him play another year but as a Packers fan I feel that the Vikings improved their QB situation and it will be harder for us to win the division. AP is an absolute BEAST. And now that he has a QB that even has the threat of being a good QB, he's going to be even more deadly.

beast (2h) : I'm not sure if it's still true, but it used to be hard to get sacks on Eli because he'd toss one up when linemen got semi-close (which lead
Zero2Cool (3h) : Slam Eli a lot very early. Once rattled he can't regain composure.
beast (3h) : since slot WRs might be the Packers strength depth/talent wise
beast (3h) : With AR's passing % down field so low, I've been saying they should go with short passes like the Pats used to do, especially since slot WRs
beast (3h) : What's going to be needed against the Giants is OL and DBs (IMO)
Smokey (23h) : Cook(TE) has time to heal, but may not be needed against NYG on Oct 9th .
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : . Aaron Rodgers has a completion percentage of 33.3 on 10+ air yard passes this season (tied for the lowest in NFL).
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : High-ankle sprain could sideline Cook
Zero2Cool (26-Sep) : Odell Beckham Jr, Dez Bryant, Alshon Jeffery and Julio Jones on tap for Packers. Yippie.
Cheesey (26-Sep) : Arnold Palmer was a class act all around. RIP
Smokey (26-Sep) : Rest in Peace Arnold Palmer, you blessed us all .
hardrocker950 (26-Sep) : What a strange weekend of football
jdlax (26-Sep) : What's up, friends? It's like bizzaro world right now trailing the Vikings. Blah.
GoPack1984 (25-Sep) : Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 6 interceptions!
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Cleveland loses.
The_Green_Ninja (25-Sep) : I swear, Jacksonville's hot weather must be a huge advantage. Kept it super close with the Ravens
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Su'a Cravens with a big INT. A guy I wanted.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Can Cleveland win?
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : T.J. Lang said after one of Aaron Rodgers' TD passes the Packers quarterback head-butted Lang in excitement and said "I'm back."
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Terrelle Pryor could see snaps at quarterback
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : inactives 6 Callahan 37 Shields 42 Burnett 52 Matthews 68 Murphy 95 Jones 98 Guion
Mucky Tundra (25-Sep) : GET HYPE
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Packers aim to showcase speed of Ty Montgomery, Trevor Davis
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : CB Quinten Rollins will start for Shields. Micah Hyde for Burnett. Julius Peppers for Matthews. Kenny Clark for Guion.
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Probably will not be on the top of the Pick'Em leaderboard after today, soaking it in beforehand
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Foosball!
yooperfan (25-Sep) : Game day, tee it up and get this show on the road!
dyeah_gb (25-Sep) : Dyeah! Go Pack!
buckeyepackfan (25-Sep) : GOOD MORNING PACKER FANS! GAMEDAY! GO! PACK! GO!
flep (25-Sep) : Gameday!!! Will see you all in chat later
The_Green_Ninja (25-Sep) : Also, I'm not sure if you guys know. I'm a Memphis Tigers fan. Start looking a Riley Ferguson, QB. He is the real deal.
The_Green_Ninja (24-Sep) : Big whoop, we have Aaron. We are going to win. H8ers.
Zero2Cool (24-Sep) : Matthews, Burnett out; Guion, Jones doubtful
Zero2Cool (24-Sep) : thank ya
macbob (23-Sep) : HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEVIN (yesterday...sigh...)
