Jason Wilde

9-29 pod cast

the 27 minute one

Said base your love for Brett on other things, not on Teds ego..Then goes on to explain why Ted's ego was not the reason why Brett is gone..

about 8 mins in is when it starts

pointed out that on June 20th when Brett called to officially say he wanted back was the day after OTAs ended..
Mike McCarthy didnt want Brett to come back...TED DID

Then I applaud Mike McCarthy for finally stopping the charade and Ted Thompson for taking the blame and standing behind McCarthy, while being the most ridiculed and hated man in Wisconsin.

Still a lot of speculation. We will never know EXACTLY what happened. Interesting discussion though.

Wow, great post, the audio that is. I'm glad someone of the media has said what I've been saying for quite some time (and McCarthy has implied) that it was him that turned Favre away, not Thompson.

They also touched on a lot of other things too. And holy crap, you can tell these two have spent a LONG time scoping through the details of all the Brett/Packers split. I was glad to hear them point out the Packers mistakes in this too. Because they are definitely guilty as well.

One of the things said that I feel is not understood by a lot, or maybe missed. Favre is used to always getting HIS way. When the Packers didn't let him back in the second time (Brett changed his mind end of March, wanted to play, etc) he got pissed off.

I wish I had a dang transcript of that cuz there was a lot of good things said.

I agree...When I first heard this wasn't to sure if it should be posted since it is a subject that could very well lead to big arguments again..

But it has information that reporters ( that I ) have NEVER heard said in public.

Wow, very insightful. Thanks for the post. I had no idea Mike McCarthy was the guy that didn't want him back at first in April.

Excellent discussion of the subject. The time lines all seem good. I agree 100% with the team letting him go at that point. One thing that wasn't talked about, that really gets under my skin is that even after everything played out. Brett jumped straight to, Give me my outright release. Not even trying to use the middle ground, of. Well since you don't want me, give me permission to seek a trade.

Okay now my funny is over.

Click HERE to read the press conference that made me think it was Mike (because he basically said it it was his decision) and not Ted that didn't want Brett.

I meant in April when he changed his mind. It was obvious that Ted Thompson was probably on board after Favre changed his mind.

Was it not McCarthy who uttered the now famous "train has left the station" remarks?

Well, it's nice to finally get bits and pieces of info out.
Doesn't change anything. And those that hate Ted Thompson won't let this cloud their hate for him.

Thanks very much for posting this. I've always thought Wilde had a good handle on the team. I, for one, am glad Mike McCarthy took this position. No one player is above the team.

buckeyepackfan (35m) : Just like last year at 4-6. The guy is just too funny!
buckeyepackfan (36m) : GOOD news Uffda is already all but writing The Packers off for 2017!
uffda udfa (5h) : Masturbation talk from Barfan? Nothing could make me COME back, quicker.
wpr (6h) : Maybe the shout box needs to take a timeout. People keep using it. ;)
Zero2Cool (6h) : Why do this is in shout? So frustrating. Post in forums. Thanks
Barfarn (6h) : Masterbation will relieve some of that nervous tension!
uffda udfa (8h) : Now, a guy they really liked and have groomed for 3 years is the guy. Tons of toys on O. Let's see how it runs with a great coach, now.
uffda udfa (8h) : The Flynn Patriots game has been used to say that he is. Seneca and Scott showed otherwise.
uffda udfa (8h) : Hundley is going to settle the debate once and for all in whether Mike McCarthy is a great coach, or not.
uffda udfa (8h) : Doesn't speak well to the talent acquired by the org, does it? Easy to say talent is great until Rodgers is gone and you have to see it wit
Porforis (9h) : Could Sam Bradford come into the Packers and post a winning record from here on out? Are there any non-starters in the NFL that could?
Zero2Cool (9h) : Teddy is replaceable. Aaron is not. Vikings have a really good defense. We do not. Understand??
Zero2Cool (9h) : You are wise enough to know the difference. Right?
uffda udfa (10h) : Here's one for you, Z. Vikes lose Teddy B. and go out and aggressively get Bradford. Packers lose 12 and go out and get a UDFA.
uffda udfa (10h) : :) Evans had a pre-draft visit with Packers.
Zero2Cool (10h) : Put it in a topic. My lord why so difficult lol

uffda udfa (10h) : Was previously on Eagles PS
uffda udfa (10h) : Tweeted the below due to huge chip on his shoulder for going undrafted after leaving early.
uffda udfa (10h) : Packers add Jerod Evans to PS. He went undrafted: https://twitter.com/rodfor6_/status/858382534274682884
Smokey (11h) : NO a 6 point favorite to beat the Packers in GB .
Zero2Cool (17-Oct) : Yes!!!!!
Porforis (17-Oct) : "I said that too. Why don't you quote me?? I'm famous!" - Zero2Cool
Zero2Cool (16-Oct) : I said that too. Why don't you quote me?? I'm famous!
uffda udfa (16-Oct) : @ProFootballDoc says Rodgers could return Week 14 at earliest, and surgery speeds up return timeline.
Zero2Cool (16-Oct) : McCarthy dropped a "bullshit" on packers.com stream. No delay apparently lol
Zero2Cool (16-Oct) : @AaronNagler One thing is crystal clear: McCarthy is pissed at the way his team played yesterday.
Smokey (16-Oct) : 2017 Packers are done , time to focus on the 2018 NFL Draft .
Zero2Cool (16-Oct) : Mike McCarthy says Aaron Rodgers "suffered a significant injury". Will require surgery. Potentially season could be over.
Zero2Cool (16-Oct) : McCarthy --Rodgers will have surgery. Potentially season is over.
Zero2Cool (16-Oct) : NaVaorro Bowman will get his full-year salary from the 49ers AND get another $3 million from the Raiders.
Smokey (16-Oct) : COOL !
