I guess I'll give it my stamp of approval. I woulda kept Stoneburner, but it's hard to say in place of who. Rolle was not overly impressive in the two games I saw. I agree, Goodson undoubtedly has more upside. I exactly agree with the numbers in each position group, which is actually as important or more than the players named.

So, what is the point of pointing out Rolle has been cut?

I also got the distinct impression you wanted Rolle over Goodson. Maybe there is a reason Rolle went undrafted and now has been cut by 3 teams, maybe not. If not, and they like both players, then maybe the fact he has cleared waivers twice already makes it more likely the Packers can stash him on the practice squad than Goodson? I dunno. I don't think you do either.

They are also running a business, and all else being equal, it is cheaper against the cap to cut an undrafted guy than a draft pick. I know that should not be the only factor, but remember neither Goodson or Rolle has ever played in a real NFL game, and we don't know everything the coaches have seen regarding upside potential.

That is the develop part of the draft and develop.

Not complaining, UDFA last year who was pushed onto the 53 man roster due to other injuries, he probably needed another year.

I guess Ted and Mike figured he was worth keeping around and Jake must have "pulled a muscle" while he was tweeting today.

That's the only real surprise, other than Goodson making the final 53 I see.

Awful young on the D-line, let's hope Mike Daniels keeps these guys fired up.

This defense is weak up the middle with or without Raji, and has been since Bishop got hurt. I really hope this Barrington kid can get on the field. Power running teams will eat them up, so when we play teams like that; it is very important to play with a lead.

When your D is weak up the middle for 3 straight seasons and isn't fixed, even a little, that is very poor leadership from the top.

MM said we're about winning championships and that is always the goal... How can we believe that when our same glaring weakness is present again? My goodness how many more years is it going to be like this?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Like I noticed today the RB Neal, ILB Thomas and OL Tiller were sent to IR during the 75 man cut downs... but on Packers.com I don't see them listed on the IR on the updated roster...

Maybe a mistake on Packers.com's part? Or maybe they got injury settlements and released like TE Lyerla?
