WILLIAMS TO WALK IN FREE AGENCY

People are not even discussing this :

According to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Seahawks are expected to pursue Green Bay Packers free agent cornerback Tramon Williams to replace Maxwell opposite of Richard Sherman.

Per McGinn, the Seahawks have made their intentions to pursue Williams clear to him and his agent.

This is all assuming Williams doesn’t agree to extension from the Packers prior to the start of free agency next week. The Journal-Sentinel reports Williams turned down a two-year, $8 million offer from the Packers.

I would be ecstatic to see Tramon leave. I have never been a big fan of his tackling and he is emblematic of the WEAK label hung on this defense. Oh, I know about his playing through pain...kudos...but he's not a tough guy on the field. He's finesse. I'd prefer to see House burned over Tramon because House is a lot more physical than Bull Fighter Williams.

If the Seahawks are willing to pay him more than this rumored offer from the Packers then so be it. There is only so much Ted can do. That is a decent offer for a corner that has shown he is losing it in man coverage and can only play zone.

Sure is sounding like there is going to be a lot of holes to fill in this year. Rodgers can't do it all.

95% agree with you. Tramon's extremely consistent but isn't the "elite" (top 10-ish) type of corner that would be great as a #1. He'd be damnned good as a #2 but is underwhelming as a #2.

Wouldn't kill us to lose but you've got to offset the loss by replacing him with someone else. I'm not sure any of our other corners have proven they're ready to be a #1.
