This was stupid and and minimum Clueless was in the "wrong place at the wrong time," but he deserves his day in court. The story has already changed from "shooting into the ground" to "shooting into the air." A small inconsistency, but it may point to more bullshit. After all, it's the 4th of July. There's fireworks going off all over the place.

Not wise to flee and try to hide the gun, that's true. But let's let the facts come out and see where it all leads.

McCarthy should and probably will cut him! There is no excuse for that stupid kind of behavior! IMO!

We really need someone in Packers media to dig up what is specifically in his contract. I'd love to see him cut yesterday. Just have a feeling this is going to be one of those deals where we try and present his cutting just as normal business when everyone knows it's about this gun situation. May have to wait until late August to see his ouster.

The best thing that could happen is Quarless deciding to retire.

But, the problem lies in his decision to stay out clubin' in south beach 'til 5am. Nothing positive will happen; only negative. It's childish!

This is not how a conscientious teammate acts! This is the crap [if he hadn't been caught] where he stumbles his way home, sleeps for 4 hours, does his workout fatigued and dehydrated and tweaks a hamstring. Walter Payton was at home all night after in taking food and drink that hydrate and provide nutrition; in bed when the street lights went on; up at 6am and running hills. Payton no injuries; Clubbin' Q doesn't play anywhere near as hard as Walter; but has missed numerous games due to bumps and bruises and took forever to recover from a knee injury. At least 2 of 3 football injuries can be prevented by good lifestyle discipline and recovery from injury is enhanced as well. If Walter's lack of injuries was about chance; he'd would have been the luckiest man [and still] alive!

Jolly, and now Jones, Gioun, now Q; an example needs to be made of one of them! Q should be disciplined by GB for clubbin' in south Beach at 5am. Let alone the other crap.

I think a team should be able to in a weapons situation especially where it was directed at women. I think the last thing the NFL wants is to start making advertisers think it is becoming the NBA with the thug image.

I just can't believe people can be so stupid. At almost 27 you'd hope he'd had gotten the stupid shit out of his system by now. Why a fringe guy would risk his $1M+ salary is beyond me when he probably is not looking at too many more luxury years. Keep that gravy coming in as long as possible man.

Well the Vikings have a new TE. 😝

Speaking of injuries, there's one guy nobody has mentioned - and I doubt there is even 1% chance - somebody I honestly was not that upset to see gone: Jermichael Finley.

Not sure why people keep bringing up Colt. The Packers have to deal with Guion and Datone, so do they need another druggie (disgruntled injured one at that) to replace Plax 2?

I would tend to think the insurance claim is with some private company, and once the check is cashed, anything goes. The more likely stumbling block is that NFL teams wouldn't touch him because of the injury.

As for penalizing players who hit the clubs rather than act like Walter Payton, well, you'd probably be penalizing about 2/3 of the league - across generational and racial lines. Calling it detrimental to the team, especially in the off-season, is a tough case to make. They're having a hard time keeping Mariota off his surf board, which arguably is more risky than a night out on the town.

I'd still rather have Quarless back than most of the alternatives for a second TE, although it wouldn't break me up to see him cut either. I'm pretty sure that can be done without even invoking any morals clause or whatever. As for his retiring, I really doubt that. This isn't that big a deal; At worst, he serves a not too terrible suspension and resurfaces with some other team.

beast (17h) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (17h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (22h) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (22h) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (22h) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (22h) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (22h) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (23h) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier

Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him

dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round

beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
