After a BYE and then having to wait until the evening for the Packers to play sucks. I was telling the girls around 7pm that I've waited nearly two weeks for the Packers and then had to wait over 12 hours to see them play and they better not suck it up.

The offense is killing me. I had posted stats that Aaron Rodgers great stats were inflated due to very short passes and was blasted for it. It is true, Rodgers is off this year on his passes. He consistently is missing the open guy, if even throws it to him.

When watching other teams, I see an extensive receiver route tree being used and with the Packers it seems like 90% of the routes are comeback/shoulder routes. Why can't the Packers do some drag routes or crossing routes? Mix it up a little bit.

The Packers offense feels stagnant, dull and boring and the worst part, ... someone like myself (probably you as well) is able to predict the route tree and when it's a run, where it'll run to. If we are able to predict this, you damn well better believe the opponent is as well.

Until the Packers get creative with the route tree, the offense will continue to sputter along. As T.J. Lang (and many of us as well) said, "Our defense has hid a lot of our flaws on offense for us winning some games for us."

For Mike McCarthy being an offensive genius, he needs to exhibit some of that genius more in the offense meeting room because whatever Tom Clements and Edgar Bennett are doing ... it is NOT working.

Rodgers flat out missed open guys numerous times last night.

He personally didn't show up, but he was far from the only one.

Agreed. He had happy feet in the pocket too. Looked like Matt Cassel back there. This was easily the worst game I have ever seen him play.

I place more blame on offensive line. Those guys are very overrated and just continually lost ground to Denver's defensive line.

The Packers were still in the game, but didn't show anything different.

Not gonna dwell on it much longer, The Panthers are only 6 days away.

Just gonna have to wait and see what they come up with.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Mike's no different.

If they change play callers, it should go to Edgar Bennett. They need an up and comer with fresh ideas. Edgar came up in Holmgren's high percentage offense. That's what we need.

I noticed it with McCarthy calling plays too. I think it is more the offensive scheme, or lack thereof to be more accurate. They absolutely need to incorporate more slants, more drags and more crossing routes. Aaron Rodgers is a very accurate passer. IF you get your WR leading the CB, you throw the ball leading the WR and the defender will not be able to stop it. Anyone who wants to question that, watch what teams are doing against the Packers. This Broncos game reminded me of the '09 Cardinals playoff loss. Many crossing routes with our DB trailing the WR and the QB leading the WR to the ball. You cannot defend that.

I'm still of the firm belief Thompson needs to get off his collective keister this week and bring in some offensive help. You've got a lot of teams out there that are out of contention with quality players who would be a big asset to this offense. Lord knows after last night, they can use all the help they can get opening up the passing game more.

Something else I wanted to add earlier and didn't. The Packers really need to have routes that suit the players, rather than trying to get the players to suit their routes. Jeff Janis for example. All he can do is post routes. My gosh, make the kid run some post routes to stretch the field then! That's just one example.

All I'm saying with this is, I want an offense that caters to the players, rather than trying to force players to cater to the offense. If you have a punishing running back, dammit, run his ass up the middle, don't have him running toss plays! If you have a player who can run the laces off his cleats, RUN HIS ASS DOWN THE FIELD!!

All these solutions are valid, but are predicated on the idea that this team is going to show up ready to play for a full 60 minutes, and (at least on occasion,) actually do so.

Until that happens, any SB we win will be a fluke. And flukes don't happen that often.

Andy is agreeing with what I said and the rest of the entire damn living breathing world has witnessed too!

Examples of “man-beaters” include intertwined crossing routes; trips bunches with receivers crisscrossing in their releases off of the line; pre-snap motion (something you almost never see from the static Packers); stack releases, with one receiver lined up behind another (think Julian Edelman and the Patriots) and the most popular route concept in today’s quick-passing NFL: natural rubs and picks. What all these concepts have in common is they cross-up receivers in some fashion, meaning defenders must back off less they run into one another chasing the crisscrossers. This approach is antithetical to the spread isolation routes of Green Bay’s scheme.
