To anyone who says he could flop, or was a douche on the sidelines with a previous QB - you could be right.

....but I'm still doing my happy dance. I wish this was for more than 1 year because next year is already a nightmare for F.A. with the OL, Lacy, and Datone, but whatever, this guy has the potential to be pretty darn impactful

You know people will always find ways to complain, heck some fans even complain after winning games... because the game was within two touchdowns...

Who knows... they might have, and we just don't know about it. Green seemed pretty intent on joining the Steelers after seeing their offense and seeing their fans come to San Diego and basically turning it into a home game for the Steelers.

I think Thompson is still against the idea of one years deals (especially for outsiders), but he also has seen that it's a reality for FAs/agents that are surprised their market is so low and think it could make a huge jump with one great year. And Ted Thompson has started to give into the one year deal, which I believe started with CB Frank Walker in 2007, and has continued with Raji, and now guys like Perry and Cook.

Good deal. We needed a guy to stretch the middle of the field and this guy can do that.

I like this low risk move. My choice would have been Vernon Davis but Cook is younger. Great signing. The other bonus is that it gives us one more year to decide what we have in Richard Rodgers and Backman.

Low risk with the potential to add value at a needed position. I think Rodgers will make the best out of Cook. He can stretch the field down the middle and the safeties will have to decide to cover him or Jordy.
This will also stop teams from playing 1-high, which can help our run game. Skinny Eddie spinning around fools.

Found this interesting. "Ted Thompson made an offer immediately following the March 14 visit, then they waited while Cook tried to see if there was any other interest." from Rob Demovsky. So the Packers immediately pulled the trigger and it took a FREE AGENT two weeks to agree. And here I thought went down more like, you see a player, ink them and win the Super Bowl. Who knew these things happened like this?

Dwayne Allen: 4yrs $30 million
Coby Fleener: 5yrs $36.5 million
Ladarius Green: 4yrs $20 million

Pretty clear the Packers will be getting the most return on their investment.

Check this out! I wonder if he can do this with Aaron Rodgers?

He is really filling the void left by Quarless more than being an upgrade from Rodgers.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I called up Ted Thompson to get his comments on the signing of Jared Cook. Here is what he had to say:
Cheesey: Ted, I just wanted to congratulate you on the signing of tight end, Jared Cook! That was a great move!
Ted:"Tight END??? I thought I was getting help for the cafeteria!!! A new COOK! What have I DONE!?!?"

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
