Typically this time of the year I'm glued to my computer/laptop searching for rumors on what the Packers will do. This is the first season, err off season that I have absolutely no interest in continuing that.

There aren't any real gems out there and with that said, Ted won't be active at all.

So, bleh.

Yes, it does seem this offseason is a little blase. I'm more interested in who we're getting rid of more than who we're picking up at the moment.

IMO Free agency is never boring. While the Packers may not be making the signings, I like to see what other teams are doing and paying. So also when somebody says we should have gotten player X, I know what they ended up getting, and if it would have been a good move for the Pack.

Also seeing what the competition will look like.

Well we made the nfl network as one of the most disappointing teams so far this offseason lol. Don't they know Ted Thompson don't like free agency it's his vacation time. He heads to the beaches of Hawaii to catch some sun and work on his ummmm tan 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Ted never vacations.

The Packers interest indicates they think highly of Canty as a possible piece in their new 3-4 defense, and they have more than enough salary-cap room (about $34 million) to sign him, though that also would mean eventually losing one or more of their own players who will be free agents a year from now.

This. Always a double edged sword.

No need for a signing now to mean losing anyone in the future. At least not for money reason. Thompson and the purse string holders have good management, and will make sure that money is available when needed.

This time of a year is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, part of me really wishes that Green Bay was in the mix for some of these players, wheeling and dealing and making waves.

On the other hand, I appreciate the organization's commitment to fiscal responsibility and focusing on signing the young guns of the team to long term deals.

I like that I'll be able to watch players like Jennings and Collins in the Green and Gold for a long time, but damn if I don't wish Green Bay would some sort of a splash in free agency.

If the Redskins can somehow sign Haynesworth, Hall, and Dockerty with the huge contracts they were given with the limited cap space the team had, I think the Packers will be able to sign their own free agents next year... Besides, after next year the Packers may cut Clifton or someone to free up more cash.

How are we one of the most disappointing teams this offseason? They completely redid the entire defensive coaching staff and scheme.

TheKanataThrilla (1m) : Per Bill Huber, the Packers will not be bringing back Taylor Elgersma or Sean Clifford on the practice squad, so a new third quarterback
Mucky Tundra (37m) : Schefter must have deleted his tweet
dfosterf (1h) : Hopefully Jerry reaches under the seat cushions and ashtrays of his jet and scrapes up the 45 million apr and spares us further nonsense
dfosterf (2h) : Have to admit the PO'd Cowboy fan videos would be fun to watch. Problem with draft picks is half their fanbase barely knows what that is
beast (2h) : I think Cowboys fans are ready to get their pitch forks and burning sticks if Jerry were to trade Micah
dfosterf (2h) : If Jerry traded Micah to GB, here in northern Va. they would have to quick build yet another data center to handle the internet hate traffic
Zero2Cool (2h) : its signing and trades that you don't hear about, other then announced
Zero2Cool (2h) : If you hear rumors about Packers sign or trade, won't happen. Not how they work
dfosterf (2h) : 19 players in a contract year. Jones called loss to us worst loss in Cowboy history. Forget Parsons trade. Not happenin' Cap'n
packerfanoutwest (4h) : The Packers, meanwhile, are the youngest team in the league for the third consecutive year.
dfosterf (6h) : That it was darkest before the dawn in Bengals and Commanders before they got deals done
Zero2Cool (6h) : what is Schefter saying?
dfosterf (6h) : He was getting Dorito infusion therapy
dfosterf (6h) : He's outta shape. Why, just the other day I saw him splayed out on the trainers table
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Parsons has followed Rasheed Walker on Twitter. Quite the choice
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Kuhn is a former player who works for the team, if somethings going down, he would be close to it
Mucky Tundra (13h) : @kuhnj30 Micah Freaking Parsons
Mucky Tundra (13h) : A LOT of buzz on the Bird App regarding Parsons; even Schefter is saying it's serious

Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : check out packerpeople.com
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Oh crap I missed that! I thought it was a 2026 pick
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : It wasn't even next year pick, it's two years away. old dog food value
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Yep! Everytime a team trades with Howie that team is the loser (so says the media)

Mucky Tundra (23-Aug) : Matthew Golden=DAWG (so load the wagons!!) !!!!!
dfosterf (18-Aug) : We do have good depth at running back imo. Still so frustrating. Bitching about it is a futile excercise, which I plan to do anyway.

Mucky Tundra (17-Aug) : Not a surprise; inevitable
