Ok this one is on me.
We all know Mike reads this forum every week and digests all the posts.
Remember the day we made a joke about Peppers playing TE and then he dropped a TD pass next week?

I (and others) called Mike a conservative coach last week, he took it seriously, he wasn't going to kneel, no way.Granted,it was kind of absurd but he did what he had to do.

Now if you want to criticize Mike consider what you write....

I doubt nerd was serious when he made that suggestion but I do think Mike McCarthy is conscious of those things at times. Certainly he is not going to call a pass to Adams in that case but I do believe that if a player is close to a significant mark Mike McCarthy will try to do what he can to get him there within reason. He won't put a player in jeopardy or risk a game or really try to rub it in but I do think he would make an effort to try to accommodate such things if he could and it wouldn't change his philosophy too much. The problem with passing yards is if the guy ain't open he ain't open and even if the call is to him and he's covered there is only so much the coach can do. One thing he wouldn't do is tell Aaron to throw it to Adams no matter what to get him his yards but I could very easily see him calling a few plays that would be intended for Adams if he knew the situation. That's all anyone could ask or expect.

I was kinda wondering about that call as well but I wouldn't call Mike McCarthy stupid for making it. First of all, as Zero said, we have no idea why he did call it. Get a first down and Detroit never touches the ball again, I'd be willing to bet that is what he was thinking and he would be right. No chance for another 4th quarter comeback. They wouldn't have even needed a first down as three running plays would likely take an additional 10 seconds off the clock over three kneel downs.

I get what you are saying Barfan but IMO the only reason it was questionable is because of what did happen. 9 series out of 10 and probably more that's three runs into the line and go home.

When I saw the ball go to Kerridge, I yelled KERRIDGE!?! Then when we saw Spriggs we just couldn't believe it. During the injury time out, every orifice of McCarthy's anatomy was discussed as being penetrated by everything from a "dull ice pick" to "Long Dong Schlong's cryogenically frozen cock" [I cant stop laughing about this one]. Relief hit the room when out of the TO, they lined up in V. Did you see the knee to Rodgers' head on the onside recovery? Onside kicks are concussion makers.

McCarthy had no plan; he just wasn't thinking. There is no excuse for this. Proof of this is by what he did next: 2X kneel down.

Now if he's going to kneel 2x to leave 26 seconds on the clock; why would he not kneel 3x to leave 7-8 seconds or less? If the goal is not to punt, cause there's some risk there; then why not run 2 more times to try for the first and not give ball back. With Detroit selling out on the run and our OL not anywhere near being a road grader, there is only a .0001% chance of getting the 1st running up the middle.

Davante Adams reminds me of James Jones with his penchant for dropping the ball that hits him on the fingertips, then later making up for it with a wildly improbable catch no one should have been able to make. Maybe it's a flaw in Rodgers' passing style, but I have to think it boils down to a problem with focus.

Although I do kind of get Adams vibes from Allison. Love seeing the young guys grow up!

My first guess is that giving the kid 1 carry kicked in some provision of his contract.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Again, READING COMPREHENSION!

Maybe most coaches may have run X3 in Seattle [Read Herring!] But, the premise of the argument is that Mike is a genius and he knows better; HE DID NOT CALL THOSE SEATTLE RUNS!!! Please, listen or otherwise educate yourself: Mike trusts Aaron and there is a check to pass on every run play GB has!

If the issue is Kerridge's confidence, why put him in a situation that has 99.999% chance of failure?
And if he had a nice gain, so what, the game was over with 3x kneel.

The odds of a fumble were at least multiplied by 100; the odds of injury by thousands. And now we lost our #6 OLman and may have pupped a starter for 2017. Injuries occur; but to increase their odds is 100% unconscionable.

Uffda may not come back: after 6 2015 games he predicted GB going undefeated; at 4-6 didn't see us wining one; oh and one of my favorites Adams is too slow to be an effective WR. Guys like him make these crazy factless void of football acumen ramblings. If a few come true, they taught their unavailing genius; if not, they disappear in shame. And pop up again as...I dont know "Thorn-in-the-arse."

As to the topic, I agree. It is fun watching some not understanding nuance and trying to equate apples to oranges. MM is DiMM. I've always maintained I wanted more intelligence from the HC position.

Running horse and Kerridge was senseless. Watching it spun into we don't know what thinking went into that decision IS the point here. Idiotic doesn't begin to cover it.

I'm glad Coughlin is gone. Perhaps, MM has just enough to outlast his porn stached protege on Sunday.

Oh. It's after the season. It's why they call it the post-season. Can't wait to read about what a great season it was at the point we're eliminated. We were favored to win every game before the season. 10-6 is a dismal failure but we did beat 5 bad teams and one horrible road team so I understand the enthusiasm. Nothing changes.
