The kid would seem to either have a bad shoulder or a bad heart. I hope I’m wrong.

Being a Michigan Wolverine fan that watches a lot of Michigan football I have to admit that I was somewhat shocked by this pick.
The kid has a high motor and pretty good measureables but rushing the passer is not a strength at this point in time.
He disappears for long periods of time to the point that you sometimes wonder if he's even on the field.
Perhaps he can be coached up and he will learn to put all his tools to good use.
My fear is that once he has the money in his pocket he will completely disappear.
Sadly I'm not loving this pick.
IMHO he's a project not worthy of the 12 pick.
Time will tell.

Not saying this dude can't do it either. Just saying.

Be confirmed if we take DK Metcalf next lol

It would really be confirmed if he signed Kevin Bacon.

There is much to like about this pick, a freakish athlete that has all the physical tools, at times flashes it.

There is the rub.. "at times".

I take issue with this especially... and this is from a Badger fan that loathes UM... and OSU for that matter.

Don Brown is one of the best defensive minds out there... yes, he gets blue chip talent, but he also does a very good job in developing talent as well.

I am cautious that Pettine will draw that talent out of Gary consistently when Brown was unable to. Certainly hope that the light flips on, if it does, I agree, we got a top 5 pick at 12.

BTW, I have little concern of his wonderlic score.. as a brother of a person with mild dyslexia, i know the struggles that come with it.

How amazing will it be to have an OLB that actually plays contain instead of trying to get a sack on every play!

People don't like it when the runner, be it the RB, a WR or a scrambling QB, breaks it outside and the OLB is no where to be found because he has dipped into the middle of the field looking to try and sack the QB and the runner rambles for 15-30 yards downfield before one of the DBs come up to make the tackle.

There are certainly a bunch of times when it is acceptable for the OLB to look for the sack. On those occasions his duty is contain. It's someone else' job to stay home. I am not talking about those times. Only the times when he should have protected the outside and didn't. You can't always tell what the assignments are but there are times when no one else is around and you have a hunch who is supposed to watch.

Rashan Gary = Nick Perry 2.0

A player taken this high in the draft (#12) should be ready to step onto a football field and start. If Gary is to play LB as his selection announced, he will be lucky to be a 2nd string backup LB. As for being a pass rusher, GB's GM went to the FA market and hired Preston Smith. He and Kyler Fackrell will team up with Daniels and Clark and (Za'Darious) Smith should provide an aggressive pass rush. These veterans should have no real struggle forming into a solid unit. Dean Lowery and Tyler Lancaster will not readily allow Gary to move them out of their slots as the primary DL backups. So Gary is will have a long row to hoe if he expects to start at LB or DE.

Being a physical beast is just not enough. Professional players know all the nuances of playing their position. Gary might already have good football knowledge, but developing him into an effective LB or DE will be a project.

Had GB used this draft pick to take a much needed TE like Noah Fant, they could have traded or not traded the #30 pick and still picked a good DE/OLB. Hopefully Alabama's Irv Smith (TE) will still be available with GB's #44 overall pick.

Smokey sarcastically summarized:

Rashan Gary = Nick Perry 2.0

I don't want to ascribe motives to other posters, but I think Smokey meant it this as a negative.

Although, I think this may be an accurate assessment of both individuals' talent, the performance will hopefully not be the same at the conclusion of Gary's career.

Had Perry been able to stay healthy, he was a very good player. He provided great pressure, provided some sacks AND SET A HELL OF AN EDGE, unlike CMIII. The problem was staying healthy.

If Gary can stay healthy, and play like a healthy Nick Perry, I would take it.

Martha Careful (1m) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (15h) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (15h) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (23h) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request
beast (1-Aug) : Packers should make some cheese forks
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : GRAB THE PITCHFORKS~
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : CUT HIM
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : Socieltal collapse imminent
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : The West has fallen
Mucky Tundra (31-Jul) : After starting off camp with 25 straight made field goals, Brandon McManus has missed one
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : But it should be stable
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : It's probably gonna be slower.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : We're gonna just full go on to the new host.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
Zero2Cool (29-Jul) : Sure seems site going down more than 50¢ hooker
Mucky Tundra (27-Jul) : Golden with two TDs in red zone drills today
Mucky Tundra (27-Jul) : @JacobMorley Shoutout to Quinn Ewers for allowing Matthew Golden to be available when Green Bay picked.
Zero2Cool (27-Jul) : The menu you expanded to log in, it's the first icon under "PackersHome" .. maybe i should add text to it
dfosterf (27-Jul) : Feelin' pfowish can't find the sun. No big deal, will drag a laptop out when the time comes
Zero2Cool (27-Jul) : if you're on mobile, open the menu and its the "sun" icon
dfosterf (27-Jul) : Can't find the toggle, lol
dfosterf (27-Jul) : I can find that the Microsoft lady rep for Titletown Tech is the philanthropy boss for the entire Microsoft corporation, but. .
Zero2Cool (27-Jul) : There's a toggle for light/dark theme. Super easy.
dfosterf (27-Jul) : The white background beta was hard to read, especially the quotes
dfosterf (27-Jul) : Hopefully the color scheme remains the same
dfosterf (27-Jul) : *Friday*
dfosterf (27-Jul) : 100 million would be 539 million as of Fridsy
dfosterf (27-Jul) : Heck, they could have taken a hundred milliion and invested in DAVE inc. last year (semi random, humor, but real)
dfosterf (27-Jul) : Beer brat and ticket is where the money comes from
dfosterf (27-Jul) : The 40th is Titletown Tech itself. This is a pet project of both Ed Policy and Mark Murphy
