Beast, I share many of your concerns. I lived in Harrisburg for many years, having left to come back "home" as it were in 2018. I bring this up because right now is a great time to direct your attention to an article on Pennlive.com regarding Micah, this trade, and what he did this past off season. If you read it, for the record I lived in Susquehanna township, not the city proper. You'll understand the relevance when you read the article I'm referencing.

And that's great to see, and it seems like Parsons has that Micheal Jordan/Kobe Bryant gene, that intense competitive desire to continue to build, push the limits to extremes, which sometimes seems to come with being an A-hole, including to teammates.

Though pushing someone's limits is one thing, getting physical with them away from the sports/workout work is also another. And I haven't heard of Jordan and Kobe crossing that line, but the full context of what happened has never been made public, so we can't fully judge, just be a bit appropriately wary or needs watching. And maybe Parsons was in the right, I've been around teammates when they deserved an ass whooping, and I've been around teammates when they have thrown a punch when they shouldn't have. And again not all the details are out there. But in theory there was the general thought that if it was a less talented player, then they would of gotten more of a punishment than Parsons got. Again, we don't know the full context, and Parson could of been in the right, but that wasn't the general feeling that made it's way into the public at the time.

But that's absolutely great that he's extremely loyal to those whom he trust and doesn't forget his roots and he seemed to deeply trust his agent, and his trainer, and tries to help improve his teammates and himself.

And that article reaffirms my beliefs that while Parson may or may not have some potential competitive issues, I don't think lack of caring or lack of interest is among them, but more the other way away, he may push himself and those around him too hard... especially when he feels it's not enough for whatever reason.

Another thing to watch might be if the teams are fully paying of contracts.

Example, are Packers paying part of Clarks 2025 contract? Or did the Cowboys take on Clarks full contract?

Because on spotrac (and the contract details might not be fully updated yet), it looks like Cowboys get Clark for two years at the price of just over $10 million, or about $5.1 million for the next two years, before it jumps up to $18 million.

Full terms:
-- Cowboys get Kenny Clark and 2 1sts.
-- Packers get Micah Parsons.

I had surgery today and just woke up to this news. I have to wait to find out of it's the drugs or I died or this is real.
Shocked doesn't do justice to how I feel about this!

But CB Hadden is currently #36

Heck most of the numbers are taken, unless someone is willing to swap or Parson is willing to buy the number.

I doubt Butler even knows who Hadden is.
Hadden can be cut and no one would even blink. Well he and his momma would but that's beside the point.

Still trying to process what happened yesterday. I started off the day reading an article about why GB was always "in talks" and never able to get the player rumored, how GB is no longer a basement dwelling team but still no metro city that an athlete would prefer, esp one like Parsons who's traveled to Dubai in the off season. By the end of the day I was soaking up all the info on the deal I could on social media.

Favre had Reggie, Rodgers had Woodson and now Love has Parsons.

Earlier this offseason Gute spoke about how expectations have risen and there needed to be some urgency heading into this season. Well, the expectations have definitely risen; it's Super Bowl or bust.

Can't believe the cost of the trade, two firsts and Clark? Like, THAT'S IT? After all the mock trades I saw with multiple 1st rounders, day 2 picks and players, that's the price of admission? Yeah there's the contract but was a given heading into any deal. Jerry absolutely screwed up by not extending Parsons sooner or trading him before the draft. With regards to the contract, if there's someone who can make it work going forward, it's Russ Ball.

While his play has declined, it still hurts losing Clark. Last link to a different era of Packers football is gone.

With the 2019 FA bonanza, signing X and Jacobs last year, Hobbs and Banks this year, drafting Golden, trying to trade for Mack, trying to trade up for a WR in the 2020 draft and now this, can we please stop with the narrative that this team and Gutekunst don't care about winning a Super Bowl and are happy to be competitive every year or how this team never makes any moves in FA or by trading?

Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : New site so much better. Might make switch and deal with it.
dfosterf (27-Aug) : Mecole Hardman to our practice squad
dfosterf (27-Aug) : Nick Nieman from Texans our 5th linebacker. Special teams signing
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Looks like we signed Clayton Tune as QB3
wpr (27-Aug) : TKT people lose their minds over QB3. Point is almost none of them are ready that's why they are on the PS and other teams don't take them.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Unfortunately he doesn't seem ready to be an emergency QB.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : As a Canadian and a follower of Canadian University football. I am rooting for him
dfosterf (27-Aug) : I bet a lot of us will follow the Taylor Elgersma journey with interest. Personally, got a Kurt Warner vibe goin' on. I like him
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Not sure if either will be claimed though.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Tune or Hooker would make sense
dfosterf (27-Aug) : Clayton Tune cut by the Cards? Don't know if that's the guy, we shall see
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Per Bill Huber, the Packers will not be bringing back Taylor Elgersma or Sean Clifford on the practice squad, so a new third quarterback
Mucky Tundra (27-Aug) : Schefter must have deleted his tweet
dfosterf (27-Aug) : Hopefully Jerry reaches under the seat cushions and ashtrays of his jet and scrapes up the 45 million apr and spares us further nonsense
dfosterf (27-Aug) : Have to admit the PO'd Cowboy fan videos would be fun to watch. Problem with draft picks is half their fanbase barely knows what that is
beast (27-Aug) : I think Cowboys fans are ready to get their pitch forks and burning sticks if Jerry were to trade Micah
dfosterf (27-Aug) : If Jerry traded Micah to GB, here in northern Va. they would have to quick build yet another data center to handle the internet hate traffic
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : its signing and trades that you don't hear about, other then announced
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : If you hear rumors about Packers sign or trade, won't happen. Not how they work
dfosterf (27-Aug) : 19 players in a contract year. Jones called loss to us worst loss in Cowboy history. Forget Parsons trade. Not happenin' Cap'n
packerfanoutwest (27-Aug) : The Packers, meanwhile, are the youngest team in the league for the third consecutive year.
dfosterf (27-Aug) : That it was darkest before the dawn in Bengals and Commanders before they got deals done
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : what is Schefter saying?
dfosterf (27-Aug) : He was getting Dorito infusion therapy
dfosterf (27-Aug) : He's outta shape. Why, just the other day I saw him splayed out on the trainers table
