The St. Louis Rams have released QB Marc Bulger, the team announced today.

Can they go anywhere but Bradford right now?

I've never seen the first four picks in a draft looking this locked down 3 weeks before the actual draft.

It pretty much looks like Bradford - Suh - McCoy - Okung will be the top 4 picks right now, in that order.

The Rams still have a ton of options.. bring one or two of these guys onto the roster as a stop gap for the next year or two.

BTW.. I think you can win in this league with Jason Campbell and a steady OC. Make a deal with the Skins for him..

Player	Position	Status	2009 Team	2010 Team
Beck, John	QB	RFA	BAL	TBD
Boller, Kyle	QB	UFA	STL	TBD
Brunell, Mark	QB	UFA	NO	TBD
Bulger, Marc	QB	Released	STL	TBD
Campbell, Jason	QB	RFA	WAS	TBD
Clemens, Kellen	QB	RFA	NYJ	TBD
Collins, Todd	QB	Released	WAS	TBD
Croyle, Brodie	QB	RFA	KC	TBD
Culpepper, Daunte	QB	UFA	DET	TBD
Hamdan, Gibran	QB	RFA	BUF	TBD
Jackson, Tarvaris	QB	RFA	MIN	TBD
Losman, J.P.	QB	RFA	OAK	TBD
McCown, Josh	QB	UFA	CAR	TBD
Orton, Kyle	QB	RFA	DEN	TBD
Ramsey, Patrick	QB	UFA	DET	TBD
Simms, Chris	QB	Released	DEN	TBD
Smith, Troy	QB	RFA	BAL	TBD
St. Pierre, Brian	QB	UFA	ARI	TBD

Personally they need to focus on the lines before they worry about adding a QB.

If I am the Rams and I am serious about turning the franchise around.. I take the best lineman on their board.. preferably Olineman.

The Rams are a long ways from competing honestly.. so IMO, if you are going to hang onto Jackson, then build a run first team with heavy focus on the lines. Build that first.. then look to a franchise QB.

Especially paying the kind of money you have to shell out for a #1 QB.. when the rookie salary tiers begin.. I might change my mind on this tactic.. but the way it is now.. that QB better be damn special to become the #1 overall pick.

BTW.. I think Bradford has a ton of work to do before he can be considered a franchise QB.. trying to develop him behind a porous offensive line will not get it done.

You can't trade out of the 1st pick, I know that much.

They selected the best OT in the draft last year in Jason Smith with the 2nd pick overall.

I think that Suh is the best player in this draft, but Bradford is surely worth the 1st overall pick. If you upgrade your team a little and go 6-10 next year, you're most likely out of the race for the best QB in the draft. They should go QB now and keep him on the bench for a year, while they get him some weapons.

I'm afraid that he'll get thrown in there, though, and that he'll get beat around, throwing to a good nr. 2 receiver in Donnie Avery and pretty much no one besides that.

Oh how I disagree... but that could be some of my pretty boy QB bias kicking in.

I see little to make me say.. Bradford is a can't miss prospect in this league.. hell if I am the Rams.. take another OT.. pin Smith on one end.. this years pick on the other and draft Colt McCoy in the 2nd round...

To me.. Colt will be a better overall pro for the value than Bradford at where they will be picked, the money they will make over the first 5 years of the deal and long term production.

Then you have set the bookends on the line and have a very talented QB to develop...

Or they can go defensive line and shore up the middle..

I have yet to be sold that Bradford is the best player in this draft..

-little off topic- but I sure like detroit more then st lois; they made some nice moves this off season. Stafford wasnt that bad and looks like they will be adding a beast on their D.

You may not be able to trade out of the first pick, but you can certainly "accidentally" fail to make your pick in the allotted time.

It's gotta be Bradford, but think about it, it had to be even before Bulger was released.

Really, if Spagnuolo wants to keep his job, he has to win some games next season, and he isn't going to do that with Keith Null and A.J. Feeley at QB. And, drafting a franchise QB now will probably get him an extra year.

But if they do go BPA, I don't blame them. A lot of great QBs could come out next year too. Like Jake Locker, Ryan Mallett, Andrew Luck, Terrelle Pryor and Pat Devlin.

Martha Careful (6h) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.

Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then

Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
