excuse me but i put the blame on the over hyped "Mr. Rodgers" Its always the qb that gets the blame, and i don't care this is his first year starting because i remember people before the season saying we won't have no drop off this year from last seeing the only thing that changed was the qb. Quit making excuses for him after all he did tell us to shut up lol.

Damn it felt good to get back to myself and pretending i like Rodgers and with saying that he better have a 400 yd 4-5 td game against a very very weak team in Seattle

He sits down and talks to a reporter, answers the questions truthfully and reporter goes on their way.

Story comes out and much to his displeasure he notices that certain parts of his answers were flip flopped to other areas of the story to create controversy..

He thinks WTF and is pretty ticked off that the reported did this..Wants to call them up and demand a retraction..

Now say for "pretend" he goes to Packers PR dept and they say...Just let it go, we do not want to start a media war with people that lie..and even tho he hates to do it, he agrees and allows his name to be dragged threw the mud even months after it happened..

I wonder if that could be true?? Nahhh he is just an A@@..

Keep in mind my scenario of this is pretty hard to make up wouldnt you agree?

Now if all this is his fault then for sure BF is to blame for the entire 05 season?

Long all im saying no matter what team it is the blame for losses always falls on the qb (unless its peyton manning and Big Ben they always blame someone else) and as far as the 2005 season most people did blame Brett.
I just want a damn win and if we can't beat a very very banged up bad team this week we will be able to draft a qb with a top 5 pick if not #1 overall
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Great post.

I am pleased you saw the age, longevity and future return value in the Hypothetical trade.

Brett is an Icon, the best of the best in many ways, not all, but most.

However... Red Sox (By the way.. Great win in Tampa tonight.) do you really think the Jets are that close to a Superbowl? Now if Brett would have just not panicked and forced the issue he would be the starting Q.B. for the Pats right now and there would be nothing that would stop them this year. Plus the Packers would have got much more for him.

Now... Before anyone freaks out. This is a Packer Forum Post, because it is. .... I would say the general consensus from almost all football experts, coaches and player personnel NFL People is that.. Rogers is the real deal..

I mean let's all get real. Does Chico not have the smarts? Does he not have the arm? Does he not have the guts by playing injured?

Brett left, wanted to leave last year. That is a fact.

I ask you all.... Who would you rather have as the young Q.B. starting for "Your Green Bay Packers." Alex Smith? Matt Leinart? Vince Young? JaMarcus Russell?

I like the kid. I like his chances. He is 24 years old and has a wide birth to grow as a person and Q.B. Brett is an Icon. There will be no one, ever like him. What the hell is the problem with looking forward?

I know its your opinion that Aaron Rodgers isnt good enuff, but come on dude, at least give him a season...

I think you would have pulled BF in favor of Mark Burnell back in the day...

and if you say no, I say your more full of it then I thought..Because I bet AT that TIME if we had the internet, YOU and other people would have been calling for BF's head way more then they were calling for Cledious Hunt to be cut

RP, I agree. In terms of young QB's he's one of hte top, along with other young guys like Cutler and Ryan (that kid went into Lambeau field and had an amazing game and its his first season in the NFL).

But there is a fundamental difference in our opinions in terms of the key to winning a SB. IMO (it may be a stupid one for all I know) is that the window for a SB is very small in the NFL unless your a super-franchise like the Pats (which we are without a doubt not). I feel if you went 13-3 with a guy, why not give it another shot, especially when the guy has given you so many years + blood + bruises, etc.

In the long run without a doubt, take Rodgers, he's a great young talent. For one year, I'd rather have Favre, but thats just me. I really believe he makes up for a lot of the weaknesses that people suddenly are up in arms about. We had a very similar O-line last year, difference is Favre can make up for a bad O-line with quick decisions and experience. RB - look at the first 7-8 games of last year and look at our running backs production.

Actually just look at this year. I may be wrong but I think the Jets are 28th in the league in rushing. I think Favre leads the league in sacks (that o-line has not got it together yet, as proven by the RB stats but watching the games, Favre would have a lot more if wasn't for his insane ability to react and adjust). And he still leads the league in TD's and QB rating (which people always point to as a key stat). Plus they are 2-2. After going 4-12.

Is one player make ALL the difference, of course not. Do I believe that one player can make a significant difference, of course. Rodgers inability to make a quick decision or move out of hte pocket at hte right time has nothing to do with talent, it has to do with experience. The O-line issues are hardly ever one sided, its usually a combination of the o-line and the QB (similar to stolen bases in baseball, the catcher is usually not bad, it doesn't help if the pitcher is slow to the plate).

Overall, this was not suppose to be a long post. But whatever. I agree Rodgers in the long run is a viable option in this league - but at this point in his career he can't make up for a lot of the team's shortcomings which were there last year too. But I believe in short windows to win championships and if your 13-3, why change the most important part of your team.

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
