I'd like to see them keep Lee. It'd be nice to have a veteran at TE to keep Finley's head from getting too big.

I doubt Lee will keep Finley down in any way. If it wasn't for Favre, there's a pretty big chance that Visanthe Lee isn't even on the roster, anymore.

Lee has been nothing but mediocre ever since Favre left. Or actually, even while he was here. Had Martin not be traded, he'd be our "very reliable veteran" right now, created by Brett. Rodgers just doesn't force the ball into his TEs the way Favre does.

That said, you do have a lot of unknowns behind Finley and Lee. The best set-up to me looks like Starter - Veteran - Project. If you reall believe Havner can be a productive TE, you could slide him into that veteran spot. He hasn't produced a lot, but he's been hanging around since 2006 and you can actually get something back for Lee, instead of just letting him go, eventually.

I wouldn't mind them cutting lee only because if there's a young buck who can take his spot and do the things he does and IS cheaper then why not? He has been a true professional and that's great, and i highly doubt they can stash Quarless on the PS no way he does not get picked up by someone.

Fin has put a lot of work into improving his blocking.

For some reason, whenever people say "Crabtree", I think "Ed West."

I know its sexy to think of Quarless having the potential of another Finley, but we've already got a Finley. To put two of them on the field at the same time, means taking one of our WRs out.

Yes, I know, two Finleys makes one think of the Jackson/Chmura heydey...but that was also a team that didn't have the top-to-bottom WR talent that this one does.

Personally, I'd really like having a "Toolbox" type on the team again for a change. Even if it means seeing "the next Finley" playing for another team a couple years from now.

I'm weird.

I thought that was the point of taking up boxing in the off season. He want to have a stronger punch and quicker hands when blocking.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

I don't know about the off-season, but just in the past week or so Finley said that he has been working hard on his blocking in training camp.

On Mike McCarthy's show tonight, they broke down the first play from scrimmage in the Seattle game, and Finley made a nice block to seal the edge, allowing Rodgers time to slide out of the pocket and fire that 60-plus-yard rocket to Jennings.

You sure? I thought it was Lee because of the H-back role there. I can't tell for sure one way or the other but I'm used to Lee being the H-back.

Korey Hall was the fullback, if that's what you're referring to. And Finley lined up on Tauscher's right. Donald Lee was not on the field.
