First let's look at the projected NFC North winner, the Green Bay Packers

Bet Vegas Packers -3 over/under 47.5
Football locks Packers -3 over/under 47.5
Bet US Packers -3 over/under 48

Note: 6 of last seven games between the Packers and Eagles have gone under.
5 of last 6 have gone under when Green Bay plays at Philadelphia.

Green Bay is 7-3 in last 10 September games. Eagles 5-5 in last 10 September games.

Although things point to the under, bet the Packers to cover the spread.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears

Bet Vegas Bears -6 over/under is 43
Football Locks Bears -6 over/under is 43
Bet US Bears -6 over/under is 43

Bears have gone under 6 of last 8 games. Total has gone under on 4 of last 6 Lions road games.
The total has gone over in 4 of the last 5 games of Detroit in Chicago.
Detroit is 0-10 in last 10 games on grass. 0-10 in last 10 divisional games
Bears are 5-5 in last 10 on grass. 5-5 in last 10 divisional games.

Bet the Bears to cover the spread.

scumbag purple at Saints

Bet Vegas Saints -4.5 over/under 49
Football Locks Saints -4.5 over/under 49
Bet US Saints -4.5 over/under 49

The scumbag purple are 4-6 most recently in September, 6-4 in last 10 outside the division.
The Saints are 5-5 most recently in September, 9-1 in last 10 outside the division.

The last 5 meetings between the two have gone over. 4 of 5 between the two in New Orleans have gone over.

Bet the over.

Alright I don't understand all the betting stuff... like

"Bet Vegas Bears -6 over/under is 43"

is the 43 total points? ...

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears/Lions game was a defensive one as both of them have pretty good DLs (after all the FA help) while pretty questionable OLs.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lions to win against the Bears because they have Mike Martz 7 step drop system with a poor pass blocking OL which may not give him the time to throw.

How do the Eagles look this year? They got any glaring strengths and weaknesses?

Best advice I could give for betting in week 1 is "Don't". Talk about a crapshoot...

It is quite possible that the Lions will be in sole possession of first place in the NFC North after week 1.

Though I think this thread belongs more in the NFC North section than here.

we should have a betting thread in the banter forums ... assuming I find work and am still in the UK I will be betting on all the weeks this season again (same as last season).

last season I spent alot of time doing my own indepth analysis of teams/games etc ...

I did a parley bet and I took 4 out of 6 to win ...
took CLE over TB, DEN over JAC, ATL over PIT, DET over CHI, GB over PHI, BAL over NYJ

I think the spread with GB is -3 and the spread with ATL is -2.5
basically how it works with the parley usually is if I get 4/6 right I make even money and if I make 5/6 I make 4-5x as much and if I get 6 right I make 20x my bet.

I dont have much disposible income atm so keping my bets short and sweet.
