Thank God the Allen Barbre experiment is over. From now on, when the coaching staff says that an offensive lineman is "athletic," can we just assume that he's no good?

WTF Obiozor, Blackmon and Toribio? I don't understand...

I was expecting Obiozor and Toribio to get cut. Blackmon is the big surprise. Ted will need to find a returner somewhere, and in a hurry.

I would like to know Zero's source for this info.

Nah, it's no big deal as long as you're right. It's probably on Twitter or something, and I don't bother with that sort of thing. This is much more fun.

Bedard's blog is the source, if I am not mistaken.

You have to think the Packers are eying a third RB, perhaps some RB who can return kicks - apparently Slocum likes his KR to come from the RB group.

Sad to see Will Blackmon go.... When McCarthy implied will was having problems, I wondered if it would be best to shut him down for the year and put him on IR. Apparently Bedard thinks he might still be of use later on in the year... would love to have him.

TE Spencer Havner

Will be cut at 5PM if no trade partners can be found.

Kinda suprising considering he's a two-way guy. Crabtree makes the team over him potentially?

Surprised to see Havner go.
Running cutdown thread:

Packers might want to look at former Colt Ray Fisher. He's a small and inexperienced rookie CB, but he's a dynamic returner.

Frankly, outside of getting 4 or 5 TDs, Havner wasn't all that great.

Yes he plays some LB, but if you need him to do so then you are pretty screwed seeing as you've lost not only your starters but at least a couple of your back-ups too.

Also, he does not block particularly well. I still remember a play last year, where HAver missed a block and Rodgers got nailed going out of bounds. He gets up, has words for Havner, and Havner in return begins yelling at A-Rod.

Frankly, I think Havner's snaps could go to a more talented (but raw) Quarless. He'd be instantly a more credible threat, assuming that he can catch can the ball.
