The only reason this guy was made a head coach is because of his player development talents. The McCarthy driven offense sputters down the field. It's never a good idea to open up every first down on a run when you don't have a running game to speak of.

Instead of wasting time calling the offense, McCarthy should teach Rodgers how to read defenses. Seriously who checks into a run when they see an eight man blitz?

McCarthy's needs to put more emphasis on game time adjustments and less on his preconceived game plan, when required by the game.

My thoughts are that you need to take a deep breath.

inspite of running ineptitude, the play action was working just fine

if not for a taush phantom holding penalty the team scores 24 points against a great D, which should be enough to win.

Many penalties were mental errors that are the PLAYER'S own fault

Some ill-timed fishy calls by the refs.

Bulaga fell down on blocked FG

Dropped pic late in game

...i could keep going, point being that lots of small straws broke the team's back, many of which can not be attributed to MM

I'm laughing my ass off here about how much you guys are freaking out after one loss... seriously, did you think this moment would never come?
Mike McCarthy made some pretty stupid calls, but I still think he's a coach worth keeping.

It's not about the loss. I just find the offense frustrating to watch, win or lose, and i was wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

I know the Bears are the NFC North's spoiler and therefore you can't take a loss to them very seriously. 2007 Bears swept Packers and last year the Bears cost the Vikings homefield advantage (thank god).

McCarthy's offense lacks originality of any kind. period.

agreed

1, yes ONE team in the NFC is undefeated right now, so should we pull a San Francisco or Buffalo and chop starters and fire coordinators less than 1/4 of the way through the season?!?

I'm still pissed as hell about this loss, but c'mon, 1 team has finished undefeated in the SB era, so you think NOBODY else has EVER had a game where they beat themselves? As previously mentioned, even the bears would have some viable self-inflicted wounds they could cry about if they had lost

Offense is frustrating to watch? What the fuck are you talking about? Unless you're talking penalties, you're completely spoiled as a packer fan. Become a Bills fan for five weeks and then come back and talking about offensive frustration.

Rodgers threw for 300+ yards, and the team was a holding penalty away from 24 points against one of the better front 7s in football.

If you're at the 30, it's 3-22 so you run a draw to set up a field goal... the rb breaks one for a 1st down the fans cheer on a "brilliant play call," if he gets 3 yards, "man the coach is a moron!" The result isn't necessarily indicative of how good/bad a play call was.

The team had MYRIAD other opportunities to win this game and blew it...play calling would be about 87th on my list of reasons why they lost.

lol I wouldn't never last a day! Maybe it's only me, but I think with all the weapons on offense this offense could be much better if McCarthy wasn't calling the plays. Lets face it the man has never been a good play caller, yet he insists on calling the play himself rather than hand it over to the offensive coordinator.
