Peprah has been playing very well. I think maybe the fact that he was out of work, and now brought back to GB lighted a fire under him. We've seen that happen before.
He's been doing his job quite well.....which is good for us!

Peprah is better than Burnett. He's a better tackler, a harder hitter, and he's just as good in coverage. Let's hope he keeps it up.

I always kind of liked him when he was struggling to stay on the roster, but he's exceeded my expectations. He's a late bloomer, I guess.

I wouldn't say he's better player than Burnett nor is he as good in coverage a Burnett. Peprah might be a better SS... but Burnett would be the better FS. It's all about what you're asking them to do.

Charlie Peprah's play has been pleasant to say the least.

If Bigby and Burnett were completely healthy, then Peprah would likely be 3rd on the depth chart.

Which is what makes the pickup feel even more pretty.

We grab an ex-Packer who seldom saw game time, use him, and lo and behold, he performs to a level expected of at the very least a number two strong safety.

Credit to Peprah, and Ted Thompson et al.

so are you people basing this off entire games or are you all just drooling over his hit that knocked the ball out toward the end of the game?

Can you comment on any plays he didn't make?

[They've stepped up so far. I'd just like to see them do it against better offensive teams and on a more regular basis.

Do you remember the greatest game from last season? 17 - 7 win over the Cowboys. We absolutely fell apart the weeks after that against both the Steelers and Cardinals.

And no, I don't think it had to do with Peprah's footsteps. It's because that offense has a brick hands guy in Edwards, Cotchery who isn't a stranger to dropping balls (especially this sunday) and Holmes who just came back from a 6 week suspension and who obviously wasn't up to his normal speed.

Then you have the most overrated QB in the league in Sanchez. He had all day to stand in the pocket on most plays and couldn't find an open man to save his life.

And you have to admit that we were quite lucky with those two bogus turn-overs. As much as I hate to admit it, those were not interceptions. One of them wasn't for sure. The Williams one is pretty debatable, as well.

So it's not enough to shut out one of the best teams in the NFL. Apparently they have to shut out one of the best teams in the NFL IN A GAME WHERE THE OTHER TEAM'S OFFENSE DOES NOT MAKE ANY MISTAKES. Or maybe you could tolerate a few mistakes.

And I'm not sure who you know that Charles Woodson's interception was "bogus" considering that we had no camera angle that showed what happened. As for Tramon's, it was clearly explained on TV by the former director of officiating. They were both close calls that went our way, rather than "bogus" calls.

And the reason Mark Sanchez "couldn't find an open man to save his life" was that the receivers were covered! I know that Sanchez did not see a wide open Braylon Edwards on one play, but that was only one play. It happens!

Our defense just played the game of their lives and you're still bitching about them. Sure, the Jets dropped a few more passes than they should have (though there are several dropped passes in almost every game, by the way), but that does not negate the performance of the Packer defense.

So the Jets running game isn't in the elite group of the NFL? The Jets didn't come in with a tie for the best record in the NFL?

Let me take a step back.

I'm barely even thinking about running defense, anymore. Maybe I'm taking it for granted, as well, but really, you can give up 200 yards a game and still be the best team in the league. My post was mainly aimed at the passing game, hence me leaving out any arguments that relate to the rushing defense.

What can I say? They held both LDT and Greene to low averages, while facing one of the better O-lines in the league. From that point, they've proven enough to me. Especially since we managed to contain AP somewhat well while having a gassed Raji at NT and a 7th round rookie and a TC cut at DE. That's impressive stuff.

Like I said, though, the Jets aren't known for their amazing passing game. You can't argue with the fact that they dropped balls left and right. Had that not happened, they would've had substained some more drives.

Then you have Sanchez. He's ultra cautios at nearly all times. His interception rating isn't because of his pin point accuracy, but rather because of his cautiosness. That's the kind of offense they run. LBs were stretching their zones like crazy because the pass rush couldn't get home. There were some balls (like the one that Hawk tipped) that a good QB would've laid in there, rather than thrown a near frozen rope ball.

I'll tolerate some mistakes. Even Manning makes some every game. It's just that we haven't actually shut down any QB that plays on an elite level. Or as a complete team.

Like I said, I think that the Falcons, Giants and Patriots will become the real test.

I recall a lot of cheering after holding the Browns and Lions to a combined 3 points. Or after keeping the 'Boys to 7. Both great feats, but something that helped us little when we ran into the Steelers and the Cardinals.

Not trying to single you out here, but why is it that once the Packers play another team well that team becomes crappy? Can we not give credit to the Packers for forcing some tough-to-catch balls, or harassing the receivers and forcing those drops?

I'm asking: Why can a team or unit be considered good* until the Packers best them, and then afterwards they're not good? I don't get it.

*I'll concede that the Vikes offense has indeed been playing below their talent level all year.

No problem. I rather have people criticize my post than ignore it.

The Jets are not a crappy team, but that team is built around its defense and running game. That's who they are. Like I said, I'll give our defense all the praise for stopping that powerful O-line and running game.
