Incredibly classy move. Wish I could shake Al's hand right now, it's got to be hard sitting on the PUP for months, being cut, then not taking things personally. It speaks a lot to his class that he's not taking it personally, and also to his work ethic that he's still playing despite the adversity. I'm incredibly grateful for his years of service and sacrifice, and will cheer him the day he enters the Packers Hall of Fame (assuming he does).

wow! I think most of us understand why AL could/would be bitter with the organization, which makes this gesture even more incredible. I loved the guy, hated to see him go, and this just solidified that.

Btw, how many newspaper ads did Burt buy?

It's doubtful another team would have picked Harris up had the Packers organization not had the class to keep him on the PUP this entire time, allowing him to rehabilitate his knee on the company dime. They could have simply given him an injury settlement in the offseason and left him to fend for himself.

exactly porforis. Al had arguably more reasons to be upset than Burt (Al worked ass off in recovery, lost spot to injury...Burt retired, then wanted back in) yet who handled things better? Al by 4,000 miles!
