Too bad the original article itself didn't use that picture. 😉

Great read. This time and work he puts in on his personal time does really show up in his game. His work ethic is outstanding and the good thing is Rodgers is not yet in his prime and will only get better. This study habit will be helpful for years to come.

Ok I may be stupid on this but I have seen this said a few times now, Rodgers is not yet in his prime? Ummmm when is the prime for a QB? They usually come into the league at what 21 or 22 and use average 10 yrs for a qb which is good. So by that his prime should be around 27 or 28 not 30. QBs that are 31 or 32 are usually getting ready to retire unless your that guy.

Sorry was a bit off topic but I was just curious on when his prime is suppose to come.

I believe he does study alot because he does still have to try and get out of that guys shadow.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Most of the draft picks at QB this year were 22 when drafted and 23 when the season rolled around.

What you say is about true. He should be entering his prime around now or pretty soon, anyway. The thing is, he didn't actually play when he came into the league. That's why his prime might come a bit later than 27, 28. More like 28, 29, 30.

And what franchise QB can you think off that retired at 32 in the last 20 years? Donovan McNabb, one of the more fragile ones, is still playing at 34. Kurt Warner just retired at 38. Tom Brady is 33 and Peyton Manning is 34.

And he studies because he has to get out of Brett's shadow? First of all, there's no shadow he actually has to get out off. If you believe he had to at one point, he's long gone from that, already.

Secondly, does that mean that Peyton is studying so much to get out of Jim Harbaugh's shadow? And Tom Brady to get out of Drew Bledsoe's shadow?...

Rock I wasn't being negative towards him, the media is still comparing him to that guy thus the reason I said it. He will always be in the shadow until he gets the Trophy and you know that as well. And then they will say he has the monkey off his back.

I know he's on there (laptop) studying because he's telling us all the time what to anticipate and look out for."

The guy is a leader. He is not afraid to impart his knowledge on others, because he knows that it will make them better. He makes everybody around him better. You know who else did that? Michael Jordan.

And it could very well be argued that Warner had his best season at the age of 38. I think the "in his prime" argument is null. Every QB is different, they had different learning speeds, different bodies with different injuries, and most importantly different teams throughout the years. It is almost impossible to tell when a QB is in his prime until after the years have passed. I don't think he is in his prime because I believe the team will be better next year, and his numbers will be even better (stats are almost the only way to tell how well a QB is doing).

Jamie Dukes does annoy the hell out of me. While some of his points are valid, he comes across as arrogant and seems careless about others opinions. He interrupts others often and looks like he can't wait for them to shut up so he came spout off his loud and verbose opinion. Dude definitely gets on my nerves yet he seems to be on almost every NFL Total Access segment.

Putting in the time to study is what can make a great QB elite. It's just like anything else, if you want to be good at something, you have to put in the time and effort. It requires dedication and you have to want it.

Martha Careful (31-May) : I have never seen an OTA, but who is lining up at LT and RG with starters? or is it all individual drills?
Zero2Cool (30-May) : Bears are the first team to be selected for Hard Knocks
dfosterf (29-May) : Andy Herman and his Pack a day podcast put up GB strengths yesterday. This morning he did weaknesses. They are both very good.
Zero2Cool (25-May) : Yes.

Mucky Tundra (22-May) : Sounds like both Kraft and Tom were injuried before OTAs began
buckeyepackfan (22-May) : Not serious but waiting for strength and conditioning coach referwnces.

Zero2Cool (13-May) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
