I watched Barry last night for that 1 hour and change speech last night and came away with a couple thoughts - every senator and representative that has been in office over the last 20 years or more should retire in shame and forego his pension and entitlements, (new ones can stay but only 2 terms each) and Barry needs some serious Wade psuedoeconomics.

I mean how many of these clowns actually understand the basic principles of balancing a checkbook. Every Government agency should get an 80% budget until we're out of this shithole & taxes should be increased until we're out, but with that tax increase every citizen get's a free trip to D.C. on Barry's new high speed rail system to give his politician of choice a kick in the nuts.

I turned the channel after watching that shit for an hour and a half realizing none of these fools has any intention of doing a fucking thing; besides, the history channel had a show on the antichrist last night - I wish that asshole would hurry the fuck up already.

I don't WANT my taxes raised, but it is a necessary evil in which to actually balance this budget. The other part of the equation is for the momolucs in DC to quit using the taxpayer money like a piggy bank.

In reality, this problem cannot be solved and a balnced budget is fvcking pipe dream.

Imo, it would be smarter to just build up the debt right now. You have to get out of this slump. I vote left on the political spectrum and have been called a communist on this board quite a few times (in jest), but at this point, you have to lower taxes (for everyone, not only the rich) and pump money into the economy.

You'll have a deficit. That's pretty much unavoidable in an economy that's as down as this one and you try to keep it running.

Then, when we finally get out of this crap, you put taxes up by quite a bit and start saving some of that money that you get in and pay off debts. It's vital to get a surplus going, as that money will come in quite handy when your economy goes down the drain again.

Next to that, the next time, it shouldn't crash as hard.

Problem is, politics are a popularity contest. As soon as the economy is up, we don't want to pay more taxes, we want to enjoy our wealth. Spend money on crap we don't actually need. Buy things we can't afford. And, if they can get the votes, the politicians gladly move along.

In a couple of years, we'll end up in the same hole as we're in now, everyone pointing out how the government failed in hindsight.

At least the House can set a new agenda, and help define the stupidity and vacuuousness of our Dear Leader....and tenured members of both parties. Apparently these Ivy League fucks have not mastered 8th grade math.

Did you not notice my mention of "tenured members of both parties" Mass?? Read the whole thing, and try to avoid injecting your bias in my comments.

If you have ever read my comments of the past....and I know you have....you will note that in most I call out the failure of our government as a whole, and occassionally single our Democrats of late....as they HAVE had total control of goverment for several years until recently, for the abject failure of leadership.

Please do not assume I am some lover of Bush, just because I find the current dolt an abject failure. It has taken both bought and paid for parties to get to this point, but Obama has hit hyperspeed in his lack of understanding of economics, and over the top spending.

Now...please find some other partisan subject to latch on to.

I thought it was a great show. The close-ups of everyo..................oops. I was watching a replay of my colonoscopy I had yesterday. Believe me, there was more shit at that speech than there was in me. Glad I missed it. LOL

Cheers on that, Montana. This guy is so full of shit, and has broken just about every promise he mad during the campaign. Claims of transparency? 72 hours to let the public and opposition read bills? Showing his "legislative" process on C-span?? Not one of them fulfilled....and we are to believe his lying, backwards ass now??

Fuck him, and the media who never saw a question they couldn't help but refuse to ask of this dunce!

And, Mass....if the Reps fuck up as bad as this guy....if they REFUSE to lead and make the tough choices...I will be just as hardon them. This is a time for leadership, and the making of difficult, life altering decisions....or we are done as the America we grew up in.

In that case, a House that fights every spending measure it faces will help lower spending, so I agree with you there. I don't necessarily think that blindly fighting everything is great for the future of the country, but I guess that's another issue entirely (although it is the reason I responded rather harshly to what seemed like praise of the GOP led House).

Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
