Some interesting nuggets in there.. I love the idea of the team itself naming the captains..

And the developing a game plan to take load of Rodgers 24/7..

McCarthy season-ending press conference:

Green Bay -Here are excerpts from coach Mike McCarthy's season-ending press conference. Keep refreshing to get up-to-date comments.

* Finishing season, "I don't know how I"m going to handle all these positive questions." Been overwhelming all the fan participation.

* Starting to go through evaluation process right now. Ted Thompson is going through the normal draft process. "We're trying to transition into the new season."

* Jordy Nelson had a bursa sac injury to his knee. "He'll be fine." Played through the fourth quarter with it.

* Woodson will not need surgery to repair his broken clavicle.
* Have to prepare for the unknown with CBA situation. First order of business is the draft. Off-season conditioning program will be set back no matter what.

* Coaches are off today until Feb 21. Will have more time off after combine.

* Not concerned about which street his name is on. "It's an honor," he said.

* McCarthy said motivational speech was based on "Outlive your life", in other words, do something special that people will remember.

* What stood out so far? Hearing from the president. "He was very complimentary of our football team, very complimentary of Aaron Rodgers.

* Obama started with, "This is a tough phone call for a Bears fan to make," McCarthy said with a laugh." Said he was very informed about the game and appeared to have watched it.

* He has already started studying the anatomy of how they handled Super Bowl week. Was nervous about not going down there until had to because of great facilities here.Felt really in synch in Green Bay and didn't want to disrupt that.

* Asked whether they'll be more talented next year: "Great lesson, is the most imporant thing is be best football team. Sometimes most talented team doesn't win the SUper Bowl." Great experience to learn form and draw from. Thought very talented coming out of camp. "It was a great experience to see these men fight through adversity" and do what they did this year.

* Hopes his life doesn't change in Green Bay. Only concern would be privacy and comfort of family, but doesn't appear that being a problem here.

* On handling success: "It's here. It will start from top to bottom. It's important for us as a football operation to stay true" with what they do.

* "It's going to be a challenge for us to repeat. Competition is going to go up, with the IR (guys) and new draft class. All those things will be real."

* On extending contracts of assistant coaches: CBA factors in everything. Met with Dom Capers and evaluation of staff. Will do so with Slocum and Philbin. "I feel we have an excellent staff, but change happens in this business."

* On his own extension: That will be something for the future.

* On trip to White House, CBA will be factor on that. President Obama "invited us to the White House."

* On Rodgers: "He's at the point in his career where the game has slowed down." Teams will study him and have a plan for him every game next year. That will be his challenge next season and staff will have to help him with its game plan "so it's not on his shoulders 24/7."

* Rodgers will have to handle success.

* Driver's ankle would not have allowed him to play this week. Shields had shoulder sprain. Hawk had chronic wrist injury that will require scope.

* On Cullen Jenkins' return: "Those type of decisions we'll be working on in coming weeks. I really enjoy coaching Cullen."

* With CBA situation, hopes he can have his quarterback school, but hope

* There's plenty to work on for next season. Not perfect by any means. Things that go on course of year that you write down. Done that every year. Will stay true to our mantra. Go back through grades and make sure everything is covered.

* Main thing as a head coach is to keep finger on pulse of team, "and that's why I felt myself and the staff did." Tried to stay true to what he did all year. Naming playoff captains was one of the changes he made because he felt a need for leadership. "It was risky," giving the players the last word to the team.

* "No one is comfortable delegating leadership especially when you're the leader," he said. "It's a lot of fun to have a big chair and a big office." But you have to delegate. I knew I had a void in leadership and needed an opportunity to improve that. "Charles Woodson and Aaron Rodgers jumped through the door" at the opportunity.

* As for 18-game proposal, "I know what the company line is, but you're talking about a guy who barely made it through 16 games." Said he's always looking for ways to lessen injury. Spends a lot of time on planning for those things.

* Will he decide on ring? "I'm the last guy (to do that)."

Zero2Cool (51m) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (51m) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (51m) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (1h) : 4th
Zero2Cool (1h) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (3h) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (8h) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (8h) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : LaFleur looking like he had some weight. Coachin will do that lol
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : Thanks Mucky and whomever created topcos for each pick!
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : Insane about Kingsley
dfosterf (28-Apr) : Putring it here so Mucky sees it. He was our guy!
