This, WPR, is the reason that I started a new thread, like I wrote in the intro. There are wandering arguments that lead away from the original thought.

Zero, feel free to merge it if you so please.

Defense got off to a rough start (the first two drives), but locked and loaded after that.

The Falcons had the ball 7 times after that (not including the kneel down right before the half).

The first 5 drives (middle of the 2nd Qtr through beginning of the 4th Qtr) went for a combined TOTAL of 15 yards and all ended in punts, and the last two ended in interceptions.

There was a lot of bashing of Dom Capers in the GameDay Chat early in the game yesterday, including repeated calls for his being canned.

Seriously? Because the D got off to a slow start for the first 4 (1/2) games this year? Last year, the Packers ranked 2nd in scoring defense, 5th in the league in total defense, and 5th in pass defense.

In 2009, the Packers ranked 7th in scoring, 2nd in total defense, 5th in pass d, 1st against the run.

2008, the year before Capers arrived, the Packers ranked 22nd in scoring, 20th in total defense, 12th in pass, 26th against the run.

Seriously? Is Dom Capers a piece of crap we need to scrape off our shoes?

I do think it is kind of amusing to see good threads have four topics that could be four threads, and then we have four threads that should be one topic, even though we have a thread for it already. You just have to sit back and just laugh at it.

I didn't hear any Dom bashing.

Yes, Dom's the man. He made the half-time adjustments and the Falcons failed to adjust to Dom's adjustments.

So my question is, are we the '09 Saints? Are we now a 2nd half team? It seems both 🇲🇲 and Dom do better in the 2nd half.

*ahem*

For the record...I have been bashing our D all year but have never called for Capers' head. I still wubs him. And Kevin, dude. Chill. We all wubs you too.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

As for Capers, he's one of the best in the game. Whoever is bitching is a spoiled Packer fan that either forgot the 70's and 80's or never saw really bad Packer Football. 5-0, not much to complain about.

As for thoughts on the Falcons game, man, what a defensive adjustment. After letting them march through the field twice, everyone in the chat was ready to behead Capers (me included). Suddenly Capers went all Syrio Forel ("Not today") on our ass and completely shut them down.

My main takeaway so far this season: We aren't playing our best ball. Defense is struggling (against some good offenses, but struggling).

And we're 5-0.

Once we do start hitting our stride on O and D then nobody's going to stand a chance.

Does that need to be the 5th week of the season? Nope, just as long as we do it in time for the playoffs/SB.
