This is where Johnny Jolly makes this team. Neal may have gotten too much mass for his bone structure, etc., hence, the shift to OLB. I get it.

Datone & Boyd will flourish in this new D. Neal will be playing more situationally. That is my guess. Should be interesting. If he can become more of a rover with size in this 3-4, like James Harrison was in his prime, maybe we have something here with Mike Neal.

The increased weight clearly was adversely effecting his availability, with all those minor injuries.

Either way, the few players I named are all 3-4 DE's, and there are many more I could have named that are very close to the exact size of Datone. Also, as I said, Datone has the frame to easily add more weight, if need be. But it's not necessary. He's size is a non-factor. Most 3-4 DE's aren't going to be Calais Cambell's, although I certainly wouldn't mind one of them on the Packers.

Yep Jones weighed in at 295 for TC. The guy looks prototypical out there in pictures especially for starting out in sub-packages. He's the real deal guys.

Then, I will echo the sentiment that he looks like the real deal.. then he has to carry that over for a season or two.

Just like we are hearing little out of Lacy.. but it will not matter once the hitting starts.. it will be then where the reports, if silent, will become alarming.

I agree. I am for tweeners to an extent if they have something special but honestly if you want to be a DE in a 3-4 defense, you are going to want to be closing in on 300 pounds.

Also Justin Smith and Brett Keisel are listed at 285, which is the same thing Neal is listed at (though he has admitted to be lighter than that), I don't know if the other guys might also be lighter than that.
