Yeah, like the quote about passing the eye test. I definitely noticed that on family night. He is the kind of guy you want playing tackle: obsessed with fundamentals rather than falling back on his strength specifically. It is tough blocking against these beasts they got in the NFL now on the d-lines, so sticking to your assignment and relying on fundamentals is key.

But that is Lang's job.. line play is about playing as a unit, and at times, there might be a double.. if you are the one on the double.. your job is to also play the man next to you. At the snap, you see the protection from the back is on the left.. so, the call from the center is man up to the left side and a double on the right.. Starks is kept in for protection if needed than a leak out. EDS is going to block right, Lang should form the double but his job typically as well is to protect the inside if the Tackle gives it up.

It is a good read from Lang, but it is also part of normal protection packages. What changes it and has over Campen's time here caused issues, is when the defense sends an inside blitz package.. the communication/reads have not always been sound with the unit under Campen. Hence why I harp on the coaching staff of the position.. more so than not, it mattered little whom was in the game for the line.. back to coaching.

Yeah I feel you, athough this play was pretty generic, no blitz, and Rodgers is very good as sliding protection when he notices the extra guy. That is something Harrell cannot do unfortunately.

I dont really talk up Rodgers much because IMO The media does it Way too much already and IMO one of the main reasons he is good is because whom is catching the ball ...

But - out of all the things Rodgers does well IMO he is good at seeing what is coming his way (at the start of a play) and diagnosing this.
