All 32 teams are drafting and signing players that looked like Tarzan, and you cross your fingers they don't turn into Jane. If it was that easy to find the right coach, and draft/sign linemen on each side who wouldn't get hurt, and would play up to their affordable contract that allows you to manage the rest of your team, then all 32 teams would look great. As you'd put it, the Packers opted for "he'll be good enough" at C, TE, and WR depth this offseason. As I'd put it, they were trying to effectively manage an entire roster and take calculated risks at youth producing at some positions, which every team needs to do. With Adams and Linsley, it appears the gambles paid off. At TE, we're still struggling.

I don't see what's been so bad about the Packers' O-Line. Rodgers has generally had time, and sometimes the run game takes time to click, it certainly did vs. MN.

The D-line we've talked about many times in many ways. The team made a concerted effort to utilize more versatile and faster players like CM3. As has been mentioned, Perry, Neal, and Peppers are all hybrids that the Packers were undoubtedly factoring into an informal D-Line depth chart. I too have had my concerns, but at the same time I recognize September is basically the preseason thanks to the new CBA, and both of the Packers' lines have shown signs of improvement since the Jets game, so now seems like a curious time to be concerned about them.

Pretty much in agreement.

The way the NFL works now, it is nearly impossible to keep a team together - especially the price most guys want these days. Considering that, it is amazing that any team can stay even remotely in contention for more than a couple of years.

That said - it seems like some here will not even acknowledge this team's positives until they hang 50+ on opponents and allow them 0 yards from scrimmage. I have grown tired of hearing about how they allowed a whooping 10 points to the queens once the game was out of reach - I wouldn't put that high on my concern list.

They allowed tons of rushing yards to the Bears - but they won the turnover battle and found a way to win. It isn't the ideal way to win - but they made it work.

Would I like a better run D? Of course I would. The problem is you are (from a personnel standpoint) stuck hoping you can draft the right guys, or spending a fortune in free agency. Typically the FA approach comes at the cost of letting your guys walk and giving you a new void to full. It has become hard to field a complete team.

The euphoria of winning against inferior opponents leaves some in a false state of reality. However reality will set back in when they face better teams. The O-line has recovered B. Bulaga, thank goodness, and show signs of improving. The D-line however is anchored in the Nose Tackle position. With Raji injured, Guion has tried and failed to fill the position. I believe that Pennell (R) should now get his chance, he can only do better than Guion after all .

Aaron told us to R E L A X.

I'm not relaxing. We play crap, we look pretty good. We play quality, we look like crap. We don't know what we have.

Dakota mentioned it. In 1996, we had the number one offense and number one defense in the NFL.

Still, I did not relax. I had that crazy bastard at QB that I loved and hated.

I did relax on defense. I LIKED it when my team was on defense.

I did relax somewhat this past week when we were up 42 points. I consider that an exciting game. Matt Flynn throws an int on his (first?) pass play. Is THIS the one where some team comes back from that kind of deficit? I stopped relaxing, again. 🙄

I've seen too much crazy-assed shit as a Packer fan to ever relax, until we do have the best offense and defense, again. We may never, but I can hope.

Relaxing when your team is on defense is like the holy grail of football fandom, imo. God, I miss it.

Beating the Vikings wasn't an accomplishment. They have a new coaching staff and had lost one day for travel. Sure, the Packers didn't have "tape" on the new coaching staff, but they have plenty on the players to know who is good and when.

Winning is tough in The NFL, taking 2 out of 3 division games in a 12 day period was just what this team needed.

Something to build on.

Seems every year there is one unit that goes through a weekly transition, this year it looks to be the D-line.

The packers have(had) 10 days to get ready for Miami, not going to be an easy task playing in the heat and humidity, let's hope they keep progressing.

It's all a matter of perspective. You think that regular season wins are things to get fired up about. I'm more focused on where the Packers fit into the ring picture. Giving up 500 to the Bears and having the 32nd ranked run D doesn't bode well when/if you get to the playoffs and have to stop the Lynch's and Gore's of the world.

We got our doors blown off in Seattle and any road back to the SB will likely go through there. I think about those things...not beating the Bears. I see we won and that we got torched on D which will come into play when it matters. I see how we struggle against terrible teams like the Jets who some here tried justifying as a good team.

Honestly, I feel you are EXACTLY what the Packers org wants in a fan...one who is content beating the Bears who doesn't demand they field a team that can actually win it all.

If I'm pissing in your cheerios, it isn't really my aim... it's my aim to speak about what I think is important and that's fielding a team that can actually win it all and this one ain't it.

Road to the SB through Seattle??? Seattle's not going to host a playoff game, and has a good chance of not making it into the playoffs at all.

As I said at the time, it's better to peak later in the season/going into the playoffs rather than starting out at your peak. At this point in the season, I'm satisfied that Ted Thompson & Mike McCarthy has fielded a team that gives us a good chance of getting to the SB in the first place, and a good shot of winning it if we get there.

No guarantees. But the Packers are fielding one of the best teams in the NFL, if not the best team.

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
