"If Cobb is not resigned by the 10th, he will not be returning to the Packers."

What do you think about this?

I feel the negotiations have already been finalized. I feel there is a contract already agreed upon. I feel the length and dollar value of the contract Saxton, his agent, negotiated is too high of an investment for Ted. Or Jacksonville who will want Cobb way more than the Packers.

This is not a worry for Packer Fans.. Ted can find, pick, and cultivate another W.R. to replace Cobb. Has there ever been a G.M. in the history of the NFL that was better in picking wide outs? The answer is no. You know that, even if you hate the man.

Mark my words typed here, 12: 39 AM P.S.T.

Next season...

Cobb will growl as he storms the country,
A villain big and bold.
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake,
As he robs them of their gold.

And in closing we can't let Cobb walk for ONE reason only.

I WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE MY SIGNATURE LOL

Jennings had over 300 more snaps at WR than any other WR on the Vikings! Also, Jennings only started five games his last season with the Packers and wasn't even the primary WR as he is with the Vikings.

Jones also had more snaps at WR than any other WR on the Raiders and sure he caught a lot of passes (career high) but it was for a career low average of 9.1 yards per catch!

The point here is Jennings and Jones weren't the 1 and when they were they barely topped their production as the Packers 2 and 3 during their final seasons with the Packers.

Good to know it would take a SIGNIFICANT increase over the packers offer in order for him to take it.

Let's hope that it is right, because this article came out 30 minutes ago.

"It also appears to have pushed him closer to the exit. Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Packers have told Cobb’s agent Jimmy Sexton that they are willing to give Cobb a five-year contract worth between $8 and $9 million a season, which is less than Sexton believes Cobb will receive on the open market.

Cobb had exactly the year you’d want to have with free agency in the future as he played in every game for the first time in his career while setting personal bests for catches, receiving yards and touchdowns. McGinn believes that Cobb could top the $9.763 million per year that Jordy Nelson is set to make under the terms of the extension he signed last year and the presence of teams like the Raiders and Jaguars with big money to spend makes that seem like a real possibility."

Take a discount to play with a QB who can throw you the damn ball and get you another big contract in 5 years. Instead of destroying your career for 1 million more per year.

Just read that Bob McGinn claims the Packers have told Cobb’s agent Jimmy Sexton that they are willing to give Cobb a five-year contract worth between $8 and $9 million a season. I think this is McGinn spit-balling because it makes absolutely no sense for Cobb to sign a five year deal, none at all. Cobb is 24 years old and the salary cap is going to continue to increase. Cobb's best bet is to ink a 3 or 4 year deal and then go to the highest bidder at age 27/28.

This is only Cobb's 2nd contract and the 2nd one propels you into a large 3rd contract historically.

If I were a NFL player in his position, I would always go for the max contract with the guaranteed money. You never know if you'll make it to any age playing this game. I'd want to protect my future and my bank account. As a player, you have to have the mindset that no matter where you go that you can help make them a contender.

Of course these are opinions based on the knowledge that I will NEVER have to make good on them.

Consider how much money you will make in your lifetime including wise investments and all that sort of stuff. Now ask yourself if you feel your future is protected. Now add several million to that number (I assume you are not already making multi-million dollars per year but I could be wrong) If you feel you are protected now and increase of several million would only be gravy.

Now take a situation where you are set to make 10 million dollars guaranteed (minimum I'd say) as opposed to lets say 5 million more. I can think of lots of reasons for me to be satisfied with that 10 million dollars as opposed to 15 million.

I do agree with the part about believing you can help make them a contender and sometimes that is a huge motivator as well, maybe even more than money to some people. Go to where you can be the #1 guy as opposed to playing 2nd or even 3rd fiddle.

There are more important things than money to some people. Not to you apparently but that's OK.

More and More I read I say let him walk go after Julius Thomas and a vet WR (like an Andre Johnson Brandon Marshall or even my person favorite Cecil Shorts)

Thomas give him Finley 7 or 8 mill a year for 4 years and give Shorts 3 million a year for 3 or 4 years and bam you have just boosted your offense even more than with Cobb. Shorts can play the slot and Thomas is alot better than Quarless.

Thats just my thoughts in fact I say get The Whale and Williams signed before Cobb

Edit just because: Or he could make my dreams come true and pick up Crabtree lol
